Tire softener on semislicks

Has anyone used 'Grip tire softener' or similar product and what were the results? Does it restore softness to hardened slicks? Is it a gimmick that has zero effect?

Never heard of a tire softener before. So not exactly sure what you mean.

I seen tire warmers, tire shaving tools but never softener

Edit; my google-fu has found interesting finds.
Well, they claim tire softness as a slight competitive edge. To me it looks like nothing more than a tire conditioner/ acid wash. Eh can't say it won't help. I never seen it in action.

Soaking tires works, I've known a few racers that have done it for an advantage. Not sure on giving new life to hardened tires.

Look up VHT Track Bite, or any of a number of tire softeners/adhesion promoters...commonplace in the drag race and circle track world for the past 30+ years..

Most (if not all) autocross groups do not allow the use of chemical adhesion improvers.

It softens the tires up, but imagine a tire being all hard and heat cycled, there's nothing to bring it back, but a product like this will make it stickier. I haven't tried these on hardened tires, but it sounds like a good way to have some fun at a drag day or something. All the autox events near me will let you use tire blankets to retain heat, or water to cool them. No chemicals or adhesion promoters.
