iLuveKetchup's SCCA SSC FR-S
Space holder for my '14 FR-S set up for SCCA SSC (Solo Spec Coupe).

Here is the wear on my front tires after ~90 runs (50 of which were with -2.2 and 40 runs with -3.6 front camber). This is with less than 800 street miles.
Nexen N Fera SUR4G 225/45/17 https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4526/3...f4aa8590_b.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4567/3...4b2135c4_b.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4517/3...c2a1eeb8_c.jpg |
Is that 90 runs with or without swapping the insides out?

That looks almost like my CS tire wear. (-1.5 camber)

Not to re-drail OP's post, but I am interested in getting a BRZ. I haven't decided on 17+ or < 17, but I think the SSC is really calling to me.
However, and more on-topic, the Nexens still wore the shoulder with -3.3? What FSB and springs? Seems really weird to me, unless the car was very lightly sprung. Thanks for accepting slight digression. Can't wait to see the build/thread! |

Nexens wore with 50 runs on -2.2 and 40 runs -3.6 (front camber). The car has full SSC mods - Eibach springs, Eibach FSB/RSB, Konis, and SPC Front camber bolts / Rear LCA. I got a lot of push with -2.2. |

Also, why would you choose a pre-17? Thanks for the feedback! :) |

I just don't like the shorter 2nd gear of the '17+ for autox. |

Did your camber bolts hold well? I have not been a fan of using those in the past. Sorry, just so I am clear, this is the difference you are referencing, right? Meaning, my perspective in buying 295/30/18s (different car), this is cheap, either way, and they last longer. EDIT: I think I had the wrong compound: https://i.imgur.com/0dpcIMf.png Yeah, that is a difference. |

SEB (SCCA) is focused on keeping the cost low for SSC. While the price difference for a set isn't much, thought it was a lot more, they are looking at a cost effective overall package. |
Spec tire size is 225

Swapped over to the Facken Azenis tires (spec tire). I'm glad that there is more tire-to-strut clearance with these tires vs the Nexens. #65 https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4743/3...d78cafed_b.jpg Front spacer https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4671/4...e088f6b4_b.jpg Front Koni https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4606/4...f7d225c2_b.jpg More strut-to-tire clearance than the Nexens https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4653/3...3541f9a8_b.jpg Rear endlink https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4712/4...c14c4b18_b.jpg |
