TRIGGERED!

Andrew025 11-15-2017 01:53 PM

Ever since I was a boy I dreamed of soaring over the oilfields dropping hot sticky loads on disgusting foreigners. People say to me that a person being a helicopter is Impossible and I'm fucking retarded but I don't care, I'm beautiful. I'm having a plastic surgeon install rotary blades, 30 mm cannons and AMG-114 Hellfire missiles on my body. From now on I want you guys to call me "Apache" and respect my right to kill from above and kill needlessly. If you can't accept me you're a heliphobe and need to check your vehicle privilege. Thank you for being so understanding.

Hmmm how odd. I don't know how you could be so misunderstood.

Great response, @Tcoat.

Hopefully, this just gets shut down.

And you wonder why I thought you were a teenager?

Are you sure that you are 25 years old?

Some people are good at trolling, parody, and satire. I find this requires some combination of cleverness and intelligence.

When absent cleverness and intelligence, it quickly devolves into 'flaming' or 'bullying.'

By any chance are you a fan of the films by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer?

The original post in the thread you created was fine. It was innocuous if a touch arrogant - a successful way to drum up big reactions. The followup needs some work though. You can't be so brazen with insults, specifically by calling things 'ugly.' Think of yourself as a character. What motivates you to hate the color yellow, Supras, or Mcdonald's peons who really are often just doing what they need to survive? What is it like in the life of a genderless human helicopter?

Good luck!

I think trolling is inherently nothing less than a drain on society.
Satire is different, because it is intended to be taken as such.

Trolling is often, in it's "best" form, intended to be taken seriously. At it's "worst" level of execution, it is a waste of data and keystrokes that is still offensive.

Often, too, people troll on topics that are actually serious problems.
When met with hostility or defensiveness, they just reply "snowflake" or "keyboard warrior" or some homosexual slur, ridiculing you for caring about anything at all.

They do not value their own time nor anyone else's.

Okay: "Hi Apache!"

Well said! There are valid reasons why movies such as Airplane or Spaceballs are timeless classics while stuff such as Vampires Suck or Epic Movie are quickly dated and just go away.

We all have a choice. You're no better than the person you choose to respond to

Who was implying such a thing? The fire start part you could call a success though, it wasn't very hard to get people to think they are much better than me lol
