Has anyone used Subaru's Guaranteed Trade-in Program?

I'm curious, for those who have used the program was your value close to the NADA trade value?

I can't check 'my value' until 12 months of ownership, and obviously couldn't use the program till then. But non the less I'm curious.

Just go onto cargurgus or autotrader where they list the VIN of the car.

Then, enter it into the GTP site and compare the values.

For example:

I used it when I bought the BRZ. I had a 2009 Impreza that I traded in.
I didn't show them the guaranteed trade value initially, but when they gave me a trade in value $500 lower I pulled it out and they immediately changed it.
Car has to be mint condition to qualify, but it beat KBB trade in value by $750

Just to add my experience, I used this when they started the program to trade up into a 2005 STI from a 2003 WRX. Used it again to trade the 2005 STI for a 2007 FXT SC for the family.

The value has always been reasonable relative to having to sell it yourself. Competitive with CarMax as well.

Hell, I STILL get GTP offers for my 2007 FXT SC I sold long ago, and the value for it is quite good.

If you are looking to trade in/up, it is a good program.

Unfortunately you will have to find a dealership who would participate in the program. Not all dealerships will offer you the Guaranteed Pricing.

ooo interesting... perhaps this will be useful for me in the future.

In my experience, the GTP low-balled me when I was selling my STI last year. It only offered me 24k for a 2014 w/ 12k miles on it, when the Blue book was 32k and I believe the NADA was 31k. I ended up selling it myself for 32k. :iono:
