Invidia R400 Owners Advice.
Hello all,
New member here, just got my Blue.Series BRZ about a month ago and I absolutely love it, except one thing, the exhaust. The previous owner installed a Magnaflow catback and I hate it. I know I want the Invidia R400 but my real question to those with this exhaust is what other exhaust pieces you have. Such as headers, overpipe, frontpipe and Intake. This car is my Daily and I don't want excessive noise, that being in the cabin of the car;outside of the car let that baby roar. Sounds clips would be nice but just info would be great. Thank You. |
Headers will make it louder but keeping the front pipe will help it from being unbearable. I don't have an R400 but it does sound good

Ive got the r400 on my car. so far its just the catback. Im happy with the sound. It has no drone to speak of and a good tone, not overly loud. eventually ill be getting UEL & catless front pipe.

I have catless headers, catless unresonated FP with the R400. There's a little rasp on downshifts and only drones when cruising above 76 mph. No drone at any other point. Think the rasp isn't actually the exhaust itself. Probably a panel or something else. For some reason when running e85 there is no drone or rasp ever.
It's loud and sounds like I'm making my entrance to Valhalla all gold and chrome. Everyone gives compliments on how it sounds. Should probably get at least 1 extra resonator if you want to sound like a normal person. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk |

I'm happy with the R400 as its has good volume when you're on it, but it is very tame when cruising, even with the header. I did have hanger issues when I first got the exhaust, but a bit of welding at my local exhaust shop fixed that. I haven't had an issue in the 2 years since. Keep in mind that my exhaust was a very early run; I believe they've fixed the hangers since. See this thread. |
