Running rich/OFT issue?

This is after a week or two from being washed and I always get the tailpipe pretty clean. Is this how sooty our pipes get normally in that time and I just wasn't paying attention this whole time? I'm running the V2 catless header 93 tune.

This is what's on the ground about a foot behind the exit. I'm pretty sure that is a new thing happening. Nothing has changed since I put the header and tune in almost a year ago.

Should I adjust the tune here?

Log your tune using oft look at the afr and ltft see the link below on basic logging

Post up log to www.datazap.me and post link here

I quickly scanned your link @steve99 but I'm not really seeing a quick and easy answer on what exactly to do. I know I have to plug the OFT in and there will be some kind of menu option to log as I drive but do I start out with a warmed up engine or cold, how long do I drive for and what speed? I know everything I just asked is in here somewhere if I search but just a quick blurb on those last couple things and I can try this tonight before I get too sleepy. Thanks.

I did a 20 minute run and it ended saying it was full. That was going 45 mph the upwards to 65ish. Then a WOT 3rd gear pull to red line. Then a WOT pull from a stop to 60 or 70.

it look fine.

It does run a little rich past 5000 rpm about 4-5% but elsewise looks ok.

A lot that black stuff in exhaust might be due cold start enrichment, have you altered the maf offset after start tables to reduce cold stat enrichment.

Is that black stuff dry and sooty, if its wet (not condensation) and oily then that's bad indicated oil .

Impureclient 11-02-2017 02:02 AM

I did adjust the cold start and quieted it up which you also helped me with as soon as I installed the header.
Its dry and sooty so I guess I'm all good. I just don't remember seeing it on the ground like that and forming so quick on the tailpipe.
I do a lot of very short runs that don't get the car up to normal operating temperature, so that may be part of it.
The temperature here in hot and sweaty Florida did just drop drastically recently too. Thanks kindly for your time and for easing my mind.

If that was oily, I'd be concerned but if it's dry & sooty it's not a problem. With this recent cold snap my car has sounded different, I think yours just gave itself an Italian tune up. Did you recently go for a hard drive?

It's running very rich between 3000 and 4000 rpm, which is an area you will constantly hit when driving normally. I can't say if it will cause more soot but I would correct it anyway:

You could probably fix it (or at least improve it) by copying this into your Engine Load Compensation table:

So it should end up looking like this:

https://s1.postimg.org/3k9jtqlbyn/Sc...t_10.42.18.png

Only the cells at MAP 0.9 and 3200 rpm and up have been changed. The reason the whole table looks changed is because I deleted 1000 rpm and moved it up to 3800 to give an extra row there to work with.

And please ditch "boost" and "KC learned" from your logging and replace it with something usefull like Command AFR and MAP. :)
