Sticker on Windshield

Picked up my FR-S this past Monday, have not had any issues at all with it and just love the way it drives and handles. Question for everyone. On the inside of the windshield, at the top left, about 1 inch from the top, there is a 1x3 inch sticker that is black and has nothing on it. I started to peel it off but saw that something remained as I slowly peeled it back, so I just left it there. Any ideas? Kinda distracts me when I'm driving it.:iono:

Secret code sticker for free car! Where do you live?

Don't have anything like that on my car...

Something left on from the factory? if it is just the glue you see behind the sticker just pull it off and use goo gone or something to get the sticky stuff off.

Maybe its a digital barcode they scan when assembling or something.

Picture?

I was kinda wondering the same thing..... I might just bite the bullet and pull it off when I get back from vacation, especially seeing as how some people don't even have it. It might have just been something overlooked that was supposed to be removed during the initial inspection, kinda like the rubber plugs that go under the car that I found in the glove box that I had to put in. It clearly says on the plastic bag they came in that they were supposed to go in during the initial inspection...... :iono:

Easy fix!

Peal it off!

I just picked mine up very recently only a few hours after it was delivered, and I don't see anything like what you have described... Well, the only thing similar was a very small circular sticker which was placed on the bottom right of the windshield... And it was a red color from the inside. I peeled it off, but no barcode or anything like that... Very simple & small sticker.

If you're even slightly worried, I would just call your dealer for some additional info... I'm sure it should be minor issue though.

Good luck. :)

Well, it certainly was not a free car voucher (LOL), but it turns out to be nothing at all but a sticker on a sticker. Peeled off the top one, and the second on on the glass came right off as well...no glue left behind. Damn, I was hoping for at least a cruize to the Bahamas or something. Here's a pic.

Also, when the dealer called and told me they just rolled it off the truck, I went to the dealer and immediately put a deposit on the car which kept anyone including the dealer's detail shop from touching it. They and all dealers are known for installing massive swirl marks on the paint, BS tire dressing, and BS interior stuff. So I told them I did not want them to touch the car at all. After a test drive, and 2 hours in the finance office, I drove it off the lot dirty from the hauler ride. I got home and used my Adams car products and spent 3 hours cleaning it up and not a single swirl mark, etc. I did find the grommets in the glove box for the undercarriage and put those in as well.

Scratch and Sniff new FR-S smell?

FYI, Turtle Wax Tar and Bug remover works great on sticker glue residue.

I have one of those as well. I haven't looked at it closely yet, and honestly didn't even notice it until I'd had the car for about a week. I'm guessing it may be an RFID tag used for tracking during shipping, but was just going to have the dealer look at it when I take it in for the first service. Since some don't have it though, I may just go ahead and pull it off.
