Anti-Corrosion (ACF-50 vs Corrosion Block)
I'm looking to do myself a little bit of anti-corrosion treatement on my BRZ. I don't want anything oily or greasy that will attract dirt. I know it's probably better, but it's disgusting.
I've look into the ACF-50 and Corrosion Block products. Both made by the same compagny. Anyone used one of these product, or something similar (really light, density similar to wd-40, and is not sticky, almost dry)? I also can't seem to find the difference between these 2 products. I know ACF-50 is made for the aviation industry (but sometimes used for motorcycle), and Corrosion Block is more for marine use, but it almost seem as the're the same product. Also why nobody are talking about using these product on a car? For information, I bought the car new this spring and got the parrafin/wax treatement that is made for brand new car. It's completly dry to the touch but its really a minimal protection as it doesn't cover everything (mostly just the underframe, and some body panel). I would like to treat suspension/mechanical parts, bolts, etc... The car will be driven in canadian winter (salted road). TLDR: ACF-50 vs Corrosion Block, is it the same product? Which one is better for a car? Do you have another product to recommend that is not sticky and doesnt attract dirt (almost dry)? |
I use ACF-50 and it isn't much different than rust check or other oil-based products.
However they also offer the best protection. My advice is to use it, and wash it off in the spring time with a light degreaser. |
I had decided to use corossion block which is made by the same company as the ACF-50. It's suppose to be really similar.
It really seems to creep in every spot, which is a good thing. It's a bit too oily/sticky for my taste, but come spring if there is still too much product, I'll clean it a little. It's still cleaner than those grease that anti-rust shop use. |
