eBay exhaust adventures. :)
Join me on this travel where I'll buy this exhaust and sell it on facebook for $135 a month or two from now.
but really, K2motors is a company which distributes parts from a manufacturer known as Spec-D. Spec-D actually has some quality products. I've seen many twin owners use their headlights and I honestly do think they are some very stylish headlights (pictures at the bottom) But that's not the point. The point is this company sells an Invidia N1 Catback knock-off/replica for $341-$362. The Invidia N1 goes between $1k-$1.2k depending on if you purchase it with burnt tips or not. (pictures at the bottom) Keep in mind I'm only 18 so my funds for an exhaust really over the $500 price point is really unrealistic unless if I save for a really long time. My first exhaust pickup for my car was a brand new PLM Muffler delete for $240. I loved it and actually removed it from my car a few weeks back as my car was due for a cat replacement on the stock headers and I didn't want to fight an uphill battle with the dealership over warranty. I had no plans on selling my muffler delete until I went on eBay and noticed the standard tipped (not burnt) N1 replica was only going for $198 brand new. I made sure this was the official K2Motors ebay and gave them a phone call and asked why there was such a huge price difference between that one and the burnt tip version (which was still going for about $330 on ebay at the time) and they explained to me that they only have about 9 or so of those normal tipped ones left and the demand is very high in the burnt tipped version. Although I do agree the burnt tips look great they are not $330 for a replica part great. A few facebook post later and my muffler delete was sold and I was taking $200 to the ATM to purchase this part. It comes in the mail this Wednesday and I'll be sure to post up some follow ups and impressions once I throw it on the car. I've ravaged through YouTube watching soundclips and I'm honestly impressed. Here is a sound clip I'm going to provide that I found sounded best. The only thing I've noticed extremely wrong about this exhaust so far is from multiple videos I've watched when people rev their engine around 6.5k+ you can hear a very blatant exhaust leak that almost sounds like a turbo spooling up. I'm not sure if it's because of dogshit fitment or the gaskets they provide are shit but I'm not too concerned. I'll crack down on it. Hopefully, all goes well and when this part rust to shit in like 2-3 months over the winter I can make $100 or so back ;) UPDATE! Exhaust is now on the vehicle. Came on the mail undamaged and very well wrapped. Satisfied with my purchase. Enjoy the soundclips :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvKp...ature=youtu.be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-42w...ature=youtu.be http://i.imgur.com/RJ6jKZ7.png |

tbh, If it sounds as decent as it does in that sound clip and others I've found I don't really care. I'm going into this purchase knowing it's going to rust to shit over this winter and I'll probably end of replacing it with a new exhaust in the summer. For like $198 it doesn't hurt to experiment ;) I find that most people with this exhaust are filming in places where they don't experience any snow. Here in Virginia, it's literally impossible NOT to drive on a salted out road anytime if they even remotely think it has a potential of snowing or being ice anywhere. That's going to be my downfall since I daily drive my car Surprisingly like 9/10 every review I find is something positive. |

I've seen other post on the forums that come up when you even google this exhaust and those other users say they thought it was a bang for the buck. I figured for how cheap they were selling them It wouldn't hurt to give it a shot. $198 doesn't hurt that bad when I made $120 of that back from my muffler delete. In reality, I could probably get more money reselling this than a muffler delete anyways. there is more of a demand in a catback vs a riceback. It also helps they have a 90-day warranty on these exhausts as well as well as a 30-day money back. So if I'm REALLY hating myself I can get my money back in 30 days or just get a brand new one within 90 and sell it as soon as it comes in the mail. |

The dealer I got my car from were some serious assholes in the first place. Even though under Federal Emissions the car is covered for 8 years from manufacturing date / 80k miles I didn't want to show up without a muffler and have them try to say that was the cause of the failure of the cat. They're supposed to check the muffler anyways when they are diagnosing those types of issues according to Toyota. Pretty much I was afraid they'd be like nah, fuck you. Then follow that up with a $1200 bill for the parts and labor. Instead of taking that risk I just unbolted my muffler delete and put my OEM muffler back on. took like 20 mins Also, the $1200 for the cost of the parts & labor is actually what I was quoted at. They replaced the OEM headers and front pipe. |

Interesting. Haven't heard of too many failures of the primary cat like that. Glad you got it sorted!

I'm just happy it was that and not something else. I'm covered up until 80k so I'm not too worried about emissions parts or anything exhaust related. But its very strange that the cat died out so early. Oh well, new parts and I'm happy :) |
Speaking of eBay exhausts, this is a hell of a deal right now @$440: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tsudo-Scion-...-/292254584592

Yeah this will definitely be a tamer sound than the N1 style exhausts.

On another note, this is what I was referring too. Looks really nice and goes for under $200 he rev's at like 45 seconds. Again it's just another question of quality of materials. I'm sure an exhaust like this (and the one I ordered) if you lived in a really good area where there is no snow would be lovely. I'm just taking the risk and seeing how it goes. I've seen a few people in VA with the replica I'm using. you really can't go wrong for the price if it will last me a year at least.
