No idea why, I think it's just how some humans' brains work. My buddies used to be into the whole Smart car tipping trend. It's funny and all but not to the owner, who has to pay to repair the whole side of the (admittedly small) car. I yelled at them about it and called them idiots but they laughed it off.

This really sux. Sorry to hear about it but as mentioned in other posts, theres some serious moral degenerates out there that are totally out of control. You have a nice ride and some renegade felt you shouldnt have a nice ride. Or perhaps someone thought you were too much of a capitalist and wanted to take you down a notch. Anyway, I dont mean any direspect to any young folk out there but I feel theres a problem with many youth that, frankly, dont have their heads screwed on right to the point they go out and destroy nice things regardless of who, what, when or where. Chill, cherry out your ride and make it known youve reported it to the police. Sorry, Im not a person that believes that if someone had a bad childhood they have a right to trash someone elses property. You worked hard for what you have and you have a right to it. Bottom line, sickos need help. We all have our crosses to bare. Just because youre having a bad day doesnt mean you have a right to trash things, regardless or race, color, creed or politics. End of story.

Drunk teens/pre-adults throw construction road signs at parked cars around here. Too much pent up frustration and no release.

I have a dashcam. I heard a loud noise near my garage, and I looked out of the window and saw two kids (about 10 yr old) running away from my car. I grabbed the footage and saw that they actually had jumped on my car and jacked up my hood.

I found the father of the kids and he agreed to pay for the damages. But without video evidence, you're pretty screwed.

Get a dashcam so this shit doesn't happen to you again.

So why would someone do this? Maybe it is the result of a psychological need to control. When you feel out of control, you are much more willing to risk more.

So maybe the person felt powerless (out of control) as a result of something (pain, abuse, illness, etc.), and those feelings collided with, let's say, having had a car taken away, having to abide by a bus schedule, or being scolded for being on the grass, etc., and as a result they feel compelled in that moment to gain control by, well, walking on your car (the thing that holds power) to demonstrate its powerlessness, or their power over it, or that there really isn't any control....???

I'm not a psychologist, but it is interesting to think about...

Sorry about your car. That looks expensive to fix.

Or it really is just pranks. Why so serious? #instagramfamous

I'm telling you guys, pressure activated pile-drivers. Said powerless cars become far less attractive targets. After the first couple of videos circle around at least.

That would just make matters worse as it would then turn into a competition. The risk of death has never deterred the Darwin Award candidates it just encourages them.

I know it's not as drastic but where I live is a bit in the woods. My next door neighbor across our driveway has wild cats that tend to use my warm hood after a days worth of driving as their personal heated seat. There have been countless days where I've told them to keep the cats on their property and they do not care.

Feral cats are hard to control.

I suggest you place an electric blanket on your hood, along with a bowl of water, a bowl of cat food and nice comfy sheepskin cat bed.

:D

This sucks and this is one of the reason why I have my dashcam wired with motion detector after someone threw a McD strawberry milkshake on my car. My car smelled fruity after that!!

I also got motion detector lights for my driveway to deter any unwanted crowd!!

"Why are some people like this?"

Because that's the way some people are. They like to mess with other peoples things, material... personal.... etc. It isn't right. However minor or major it is, some people think it might be "cool" ... or what ever.

That's one of the reasons why people put their money into a house, and not transportation.

But you can sure bet on them not being able to run away afterwards.
