FT86SF Hood Exit Hater Pipe

We fabbed up something fun. Because why not?

Bolts to the header and replaces the over pipe. Overpipe support bolts to the ground bracket.
We made a straight pipe Megaphone tip as well as Muffler tip.

Video clips has a catless header installed so it will be much louder than stock. However with the stock manifold or a catted header it's actually not terribly loud and is very similar to a standard catback system. Except its coming out of the hood.

You boosted guys can now enjoy the fireballs only the people behind you use to see.

Enjoy :D

How about a flapper lid to protect from water?

For some reason, I do not hate this.

First person to buy and post pics gets Laffy taffy and 3% off their next order from ST86SF!

chaoskaze 10-09-2017 06:51 PM

LOL, SOMEONE BUY THIS NOW

thecarfilmer 10-09-2017 07:02 PM

i would but i dont wanna cut a huge ass hole in my carbon hood lol

churchx 10-09-2017 07:04 PM

Hmm, but if it's above hood .. won't it throw some oil on front window? Just that most similar exhausts i've seen usually were side exhausts behind front wheel.

Lol I knew a guy who had one of those on his Jetta for the lulz. Even in a car behind him all I could hear was click click click click.....:bellyroll:

Anyway, back on topic...
I wonder how much fire you could shoot with that at night...

FirstWinter 10-10-2017 03:37 AM

Seems like a great way to practice throttle modulation with a beach ball

Easy way to tell your motor is bad, or has bad rings, or blow by, etc etc... :burnrubber:

Nah, I'll have to pass on that exhaust system.

I don't know how many thousands of hours I spent as a kid, sitting behind an exhaust like that ......... took a toll on me ...... never was quite right in the head ......:sigh:

humfrz: have you considered lowering that tractor, put turbo (spinner on top of exhaust pipe) and some wing on it? Also add more camber to rear wheels (just be careful for them to not rub on driver). Also do change FD. And it should corner faster on track if on race slicks :D

Hags86 10-11-2017 07:41 AM

This could make an cool new event for autocross. Get to the end with a ball hovering in the column of exhaust gas.

We need more sound clips!

G-awesome 10-12-2017 07:00 PM

omg why am I so tempted by this.

Brzxton 11-04-2017 07:43 PM

Want to do this but how loud is it with stock headers? Cause i live in cali and not really looking for a ticket but it sounds soo good. And also its my daily sooo

It removes the muffler from the exhaust and resonator in the mid pipe which are the main sound dampening devices from the exhaust stream. Expect the relative loudness of a straight through exhaust, despite the stock header.

This also still removes the second cat (the one in the front pipe) so in California it would make you eligible for a ticket or even a tow depending on how the cop was feeling that day.

Trust me though, If I wasn't also in CA, I'd seriously be considering this just for the look of it.

x808drifter 11-04-2017 09:42 PM

I also believe exhaust must exit behind the car nowadays.

Impureclient 11-04-2017 10:03 PM

California sounds fun. Do they have curfews set up yet for everybody? Also, what does soylent green taste like?

It varies from person to person.

I like the new oriental flavor, but it makes me thirsty.

Brzxton 11-04-2017 10:28 PM

Yea i wonder if a cop will pull you over just from seeing a pipe sticking out of you hood lol. And theres a video on youtube of someone who installed it and it sounded amazing. It wasnt super obnoxious and ricey sounding like the out the back straight pipes. It had a pretty deep tone to it. Damn Commefornia

I love living in CA and that we have laws that say catalytic converters are required amongst many other laws that have improved air quality, fuel mileage and vehicle safety for the millions that live here. As cool as this "hater pipe" looks, I'd much rather have clean air and water. So yeah, Soylent ain't half bad, if you want to, you know... breathe.

Impureclient 11-05-2017 02:21 AM

California is not bankrupt but it is insolvent. California’s liabilities vastly exceed its assets. A State cannot declare bankruptcy but that may change someday....
Insolvent is the key word here.

Quote:

The Los Angeles metropolitan area, with nearly two cars per household, has the dubious distinction of having the highest vehicles-per-capita ratio in the world; more than 12 million cars travel on the extensive freeway system every day. But all this commercial activity exacts a heavy toll on residents’ health. The exhaust-filled industrial corridor that stretches from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to Riverside — a city of 300,000 residents and a distribution hub that sprouted up next to the freeways where trucks and trains transporting goods belch dark clouds of diesel dust — is what environmentalists call the “diesel death zone.”
But muh air quality! :D You need more than a catalytic converter to fix that place. You need to up your soylent green production and that will fix the real source of the problem there.

PS - Soylent green is people! It's people, the amount of people in California is the problem. A few modified cars running around with a missing cat is the least of your worries there.

tshrey 11-05-2017 03:54 PM

While there is currently no legislative way to eliminate people, there is to help air quality. While people bitch about CARB and the nanny state all you need to see is pictures of the smog in the 80's and compare it to now and see that what they have done there actually works, even with all the people. I would make the same comment about Florida and people, but at least there a large percentage of them will be facing underwater properties in the near future - that should get them to leave.
