Performed my first power slide today!
I am testing the limits of my BRZ on a regular basis and have been slowly increasing my speeds around corners when it's safe to see how much it really can handle. Well today I was hitting a left turn onto a two-lane road in 4th gear and the back end finally gave out and I did my first power slide. I slid into the far lane and then right down the straight away. It put a huge smile on my face.

Seriously dumb idea. Hate to be an internet warrior, but the fact that you were in 4th gear tells me you have no idea why the car reacted the way it did. It most certainly wasn't a "power slide" in 4th, meaning the back end didn't kick out because you were overpowering the rear tires. It kicked out because you unbalanced the car. Not necessarily wrong, but a really dumb idea to do on the street. Like, really, REALLY dumb idea.
Go find a drift school or an autocross. Find someone that knows what they're doing to TEACH you to play with the car. Practice where it's safe. When you finally become good at it, then and ONLY then: keep doing it where it's safe and not on the street. For god's sake, you drive a twin, not a Mustang. Plenty of opportunity to hoon around a little on an autocross course: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYCLt90kh8o"]2017 PE5 - YouTube[/ame] |

Watch out for 'black ice'. Also. Stay away from me when you do that kinda shit on public streets. @Cole

OP - be careful. Maybe in an empty parking lot after rain, but not on the street.
