2017 Toyota 86 Keyless entry unlock passenger door with driver door

Hey guys, anyone know how to get the passenger door to unlock at the same time as the driver door? I totally suck at pressing twice to unlock it for my passengers...

I tried the two procedures I found on here.. neither work for the 2017.

Driver door open, hold lock & unlock on key 5 seconds.
Driver door open, hold lock & panic on key 5 seconds.

First one gives a long beep, not the expected ‘couple of beeps’ and the second one sets off panic mode.:iono:

Iirc the dealer can program that via Techstream.

Yeah, I also find the two step unlock for the passenger door to be incredibly annoying. If you read the manual section about customization, there are a whole host of things you can do to your key fobs. I went back to my dealer within a week to have them reprogram to a one step door unlock and to also lengthen the auto-lock time frame. Did the same with my Tundra key fobs.

What we have here is a FIRST WORLD PROBLEM .......:sigh:

What would you have done back-in-the-day when you had to walk all the way around to the other side of the car to unlock the passenger door with a key .....:eyebulge:

Or, you had to let yourself in with a key, leaving your passenger standing in the cold and snow, while you reached ALL THE WAY over and pulled up on the door lock button....... :confused0068:

NOW ........ you have to push a little button TWICE to open the passenger door.........

Poor cupcakes ......... :iono:

Those pills can really help ;) I guess I'll have to go to the dealer...

Yeah, I just suck at the timing of it, and almost always am a little too slow, repeatedly just unlocking the driver door. I end up pushing the button 5 or 6 times before the door's finally unlocked, then I have to listen to 5 or 6 minutes of bitching and moaning about how the mustang doesn't do that. (probably does.)

There's a thread on how to do it on the old BRZs somewhere, worked on my 2017 86.

Saw that video prior to purchasing my car. Decided to wait and have the “technology guru” at the dealership take care of it during my technology visit. When I got there I asked him to get rid of the Woman unlock feature. He know exactly what I was talking about. We both looked in the manual and could not find it. I haded him my iPad and he pulled up that video. Took a couple of tries but it worked. I think the doors need to be closed and engine off. Or some combination of the 2.

If you have a OBDII Bluetooth adapter, you can use the Carista app on an Android device to set both doors to open with a single button press. I was able to do this successfully. I plan to pay the $10 so that I can personalize the other features (primarily disabling the DRL).
