Does this little box match the factory trunk subwoofer output? sound quality? Easier to install? I hate the idea of having to put out $700 for OEM. |
It probably won't match the sound since you're comparing an 8" to a 10" and the factory is powered by just a 100W amp vs the 150W of the 8". Other things to consider are the size of the box and the position of the compact one. The trunk can act like a sound chamber for the trunk sub making it sound much larger than having a compact sub under a seat.

Wasn't thinking of putting it under the seat since not even a shoe fits under there...trunk mounted was the idea. Maybe even bolted to the rear seat back to keep all the trunk room intact.

I thought it fell short
I listened to it in a car audio demo room and was not impressed. I compared it back and forth to small monoblock amps and single 8 sub box set ups and they sounded much better despite costing less.
I am going with an extremely small NVX MVPA1 amp which can mount under the dash so that I only need to run speaker wires to the back. Hard to believe something so small not only makes the promoted power claims, it exceeds it.
