Borrow/rent stock BRZ intake assembly for Socal smog

Im hoping to borrow a stock 2013 BRZ intake, install it on mine, smog it, and give it back. If it's mounted to your car, I'd be willing to disassemble and reinstall the intake again the same day. Will someone rent me their air box for a day, preferably Monday 9/25?

The headache: I bought my BRZ back in June with a Perrin CAI already installed. It came with the stock air intake assembly but I sold it because the owner already had it smogged... or so I thought. While trying to get the car registered in Nebraska, where there aren't emissions laws, the bank refused to transfer the title until I get the car registered in CA. Apparently through figuring this out the smog verification expired and now I have to get it smogged here just to register in a different state. Hoping someone can lend a hand :) thanks guys

If it's the 2.5" version of the Perrin CAI, It is CARB legal and you could call Perrin to get a replacement sticker.

Where are you located?

I should have a complete 2017 intake in the garage that can be borrowed. Located in Lake Elsinore. PM me if interested.

I stay in Glendale. I work in Santa Monica though so anywhere in the LA area would be great.

If not, I'll PM and drive out east
Is everything the same on a 2017 as 2013?

I think it's a 3" Perrin CAI. I assumed if it has a disclaimer on their site for off road use only than it couldn't be carb certified.

I'm in Pasadena, I have the whole stock intake and manifold, but it's for a 2014 frs

That's great, I'm close by. Are the intakes interchangeable between both makes?

13-16 BRZ and FRS intakes are identical. Should be fine.

I was in the same predicament when I got my BRZ, but luckily my sister has a FR-S so I was able to swap it out. Since you have the bigmaf version, your car probably has a tune to scale the AFRs. Installing the stock intake will throw it off, so make sure its on there for a minimal amount of time. I had no issues with using the stock one for smog still on the bigmaf tune.
