Unregistered Device. Cannot be used.

I'm having an issue with my OFT. I am using VMWare to run the OFM on my Mac, and everything downloaded fine. OFT read the car fine. But when I hook the OFT to my computer it just gives me an error like the title of this thread. I've tried just disconnecting it and letting it sit for 30 seconds as has been previously suggested in another thread, but that is not doing it. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the tip. I've actually already reached out. Hopefully they can help me resolve it.

If I were you I would just borrow a windows laptop from someone. There are a lot of programs that have strange issues when running in a VM especially when you are connecting physical peripherals to the host machine.

Try Windows.

I don't use VMware, I use Parallels. But, are you able to virtually disconnect the device from the VM (still powered on and physically connected to the Mac), and then launch OFM and then virtually reconnect the device back to the VM when it asks you to connect device? Sometimes I need to do that for it to detect my device. I'm on Parallels but there must be a similar function to virtually disconnect and reconnect devices on VMware.
