Pads, I'm not familiar with the brembo setup so I can't give good advice. Check out counter space garage, they can give good advice based on your intended purpose. Or check the brake pads thread.

Brake Fluid, I use motul rbf600 which is bang for the buck and I just change/bleed it often. Also csg can give good advice, but there are a few others that are better if you are planning to get more serious.

Oil cooler for NA and for Forced Induction would be different(bigger), but you can just get the larger one and use a thermostatic plate so it won't 'over cool' the oil so it runs at warm but not too hot. I believe the Jackson racing supercharger comes with a oil cooler, but I'm not sure about the edelbrock kit.

Thanks. I started diving into the brake pads thread over in the track section I am going to try it the first few days with all stock setup to see how these brembo brakes perform.

Brake fluid - ATE Type 200. It's cheap and easy to find domestically, and while it's a DOT 4, it meets DOT 5 specs for heat. It's excellent, but for first track day - you might not need it.

Oil cooler - Just go Perrin. I spent a lot of time researching this for my supercharged BRZ and the Perrin has the fewest compromises while being the most complete. If you add boost later, you can upgrade it to a larger core.

Good luck! Keep her as stock as possible as long as possible.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to follow your advice for my first day and just go stock on the brakes and see how they hold up at Pacific Raceways. Where are you located in Oregon? I grew up in Portland and come back 4+ times a year.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Feels great to join this community. I will upload some more pictures soon. Ordered a bunch of washing stuff. I will also take some pictures @ Pacific Raceway in October. I also did some work to update my spread sheet. I added a sheet for maintenance and a sheet for track costs. This way I can keep tabs on all I am doing on the car. I am big on data. Plus if people like some of the mods or stuff on my car is easy for them to get he information.

Sounds good. The PP is a great setup on track in all stock form --- aside from maybe the tires ;)

I was born in Portland and I have never moved away from the metro area. I'm in SW PDX right now. There are a lot of us that get together in the area regularly - many that do track days. I'm no track junky myself, but have done a couple events.

If you're ever in PDX on the first Thursday of the month, we get together and go to Sykart in Tigard to do some karting and then grab a beer afterwards. I've been going for 3 years now, we have a lot of regulars. You should stop by

Hello,
My name is Elliot and I creating a journal to track the build of my '17 BRZ series yellow. My goal is a OEM+ STI build. Today is just the start. Picked up the car 9/15/17 from Spokane WA and drove it home to Seattle WA. My last car was a 1995 BMW M3 which was awesome. But this I wanted to try something JDM as I have a huge euro bias. So I figured this was the time for me to pick up a BRZ. My dream car is a 997 GT3. I am super excited to start my build I already have a google spread sheet going before I even bought a BRZ. :D:D:D

Here is my mod list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

I haven't bought any yet but this is the stuff ive been looking at. Also the BRZ is going to be my track car so it is going to see a lot of days at the regional tracks here in the Pacific NW.

I got a smokin deal on this Series yellow I picked it up with 4,000 miles with tints and clear bra package for 23,900. Couldn't be happier with the deal.

Stay turned for whats to come next!

Here are my pick up pictures from Spokane

I recommend checking out the 86 Sessions group on Facebook if you haven't yet. A lot of the members set up cruises, and they hold regular meets =]

This car was awesome pretty tracked out. with roll cage, seats, suspension, wheels and tires.

Got to do some driving in the rain @ The Ridge. I went off into the grass :bonk: It's all in the process of learning. I did need a John Deer sticker for my car after its off-road excursion. :bonk:

Oh I also picked up a matching leather keychain from chester mox. I think it looks great! Let me know what you think.

Heading out to a new track this weekend for some practice. Lord knows I need it. :bellyroll:

Also if anyone has thought about using Harry's track timer app. I recommend it. It was awesome. Cool to see your progress throughout the day as you learn the track in lap times.:w00t:
I ran the stock PP brakes on long track days. Either 20 min or 40 min session and they held up great. Biting good all day. So very happy with that. Also it was pretty cool temp outside so oil temps weren't too crazy.(240-250) But I will need a oil cooler for hotter days.

johan 10-17-2017 03:54 AM

Glad I didn't steer you wrong on the brakes! Have fun out there. :)

Pads?(stock)
Brake fluid
Oil cooler

I am going to run a different spread sheet with track running costs. (pads, tires, oil, etc)

Thanks,
Elliot

I'm also tracking my 17BRZ Performance Pack and I found that the G-loc R10 pads are phenomenal. I'm using Motul 600 for fluid. The first track day I went to, the car was completely stock except for pads/fluid and wheels/tires. Check my sig for build thread.
