Anyone know of Contract Get Out Clause

Hey All, I currently have a contract on a Black GTS MT, "expected" delivery around Xmas/Jan. I put $1000 down on this car.
I have been ringing around and have found a blue GTS AT due for delivery in August.
I now want to try and get out of my original contract and obviously get a refund on my initial deposit and go and buy this other car.
Anyone have any ideas what 'excuses' I can use to get out of my current contract.
I can't get hold of my sales guy today as it is show day public holiday in Cairns, but will be ringing him first thing tomorrow.
I am thinking of using the 'no spare wheel now' line but if anyone, especially someone in the trade, knows of something else that I can use I am open to suggestions.
And no I am not disclosing where I have found a GTS that hasn't been allocated.

lol. u can probably just call them and ask.

Why the switch to AT? Hope your not switching just for the sake of getting the car earlier.

Like JiB said just call the dealer and tell him your situation - given the demand for the GTS MT I'm sure they will have no issue getting rid of it. If the dealer has a problem with it just post here advertising it and I'm sure someone else will gladly take over the contract.

The only reason I went with a MT to start with was due to not having the extra $2500 for the AT. I now have that money and therefore am happy with not having the MT. Blue wasn't my first choice of colour but I am happy with it.

Just use the deletion of full size spare wheel as your reason to cancel your contract

You wont need an excuse with a Black MT GTS. They will easily sell it. Probably make te next person in line very happy.

QFT - Why would we expect dealers to be honest with us if we won't be honest with them?

With the demand for Manual GTS the dealer would be glad to let you out of the contract, it's not like you are ordering a Pink Hummer with ostrich skin interior with your name painted down the side.

Be straight and tell you don't want the car any more - If there's any complaint tell them you'll sell the contract on. I think you'll find more than enough takers here.

I've often wondered what ostrich skin felt like against mine. Tell me more.
