Rear Brake Caliper damage; worth worrying about/replacing?

I was doing some routine maintenance the other day on the car and noticed that my rear passenger brake caliper appeared to have some damage on it.

It's a continuous gouge on the outer edge of the caliper with the deepest part at the forward corner, though I'm not sure what caused it. I can't identify any obvious damage on the inside of my wheels, though they are quite dirty and may obscure detail.

Is this cause for concern/replacement? I'm planning on partaking in a trackday in under 2 months, so I'd appreciate any feedback so I can get moving on corrective actions.

Thanks!

If it's a crack I'd replace it because it'll spread. If it's just a gouge I wouldn't worry about it.

Brake clean that caliper really well, and look at the ends of the gouge with a magnifying glass (or take a zoomed in pic with your phone if you have a good phone), you should be able to see a crack if it's there.

It's totaled. Sell car by a Honda.

Jk. Nothing to worry about. I'll question the last person who every worked on your car though.

As long as it's not cracked and the caliper is still functional (it slides freely and it's not twisted or bent into the wrong position) then it's probably fine.

Watch for uneven pad wear, that'll be the telltale sign if it needs replacing. Luckily many people dump their OE parts for chump change in SoCal, watch the classifieds.

Should be fine but I would really, REALLY want to know what caused it. OK this time around but if it happens again the results may be worse.

Thanks! Appreciate all the feedback.

I'll monitor it for now and update if anything happens.
