Fiat, Mini, Chrysler and Mercedes. All of them after working on them. Chrysler's wasn't so much an issue of working on them as it was how quickly they become rust buckets.

I want to add Mitsubishi to that list but, I simply loved the 3000gt growing up. I'd buy a clean stock '94+ VR-4 fat bitch in red in a heartbeat if I could.

For me it would have to be Chrysler/Fiat and VW product.

Brand won't stop me from buying a car, but specific models I would never touch.

Chrysler/Dodge/etc. might be the brand I'm least likely to ever buy. Poor perception of the brand and only a few models I have any interest in, but they had quite a few hits I wouldn't say no to.
However I won't lump Fiat group with them yet, I'd give certain Fiat group models a shot.

I'm optimistic towards the Buick Regal wagon, it might end up in the extended family somehow in a few years. Seriously, I think there's something worthwhile from just about every auto brand that ended up in North America.

as much as they are cool i would stay away from jags. they are beasts but i dont have the cash to keep it on the road.

But its true we cant really judge a brand based on a couple problems.

Never really liked Maserati's either until I heard the exhaust note on the Quattroporte. Now I can see some appeal lol.

Buick, Chrysler, Mitsubishi, Smart and Rolls Royce are five brands I don't see the appeal for. But that wouldn't stop me from buying any of them if they released a car I liked. Similar to Scion with the FR-S.

I certainly can for VW/Audi as those couple of problems are all terminal in the long run. :lol:

The pups should have been around to drive new cheap cars in the 70/80, now that was fun.

With modern manufacturing processes and safety requirements every modern vehicle available will serve the basic function of getting you from A to B comfortable and safely. Many of them will do it better than a TWIN for a lot less cash.

They might not drive like a sports car however the people that buy them are ecstatic about that.

Just thought I'd show you what vehicle I drive a couple of times a week. A big V-10 Ford E-series 21 passenger van. Yes, it's a Ford, and yes, I hate it. It rattles like crazy, and burns a quart of oil every 500 miles or so...and since I ferry seniors around, I see that it's a picture of my future.....

I have negative perceptions of many brands. Not sure that would prevent me from buying a car from them, but it would be a determining factor. In order:

1. Chrysler. I can name two products they still sell (I'm not cheating by going to their website): The Pacifica and the 300. I honestly have no idea if they have others cars. I know the Dart and 200 are dead. Not sure if the Journey is still around, although it is now old if it is. Also, the 300 is dated, although I agree it kind of looks boss. I love me the 300 SRT-8. So that really only leaves the Pacifica, which I'm certain is a good vehicle, but not enough to carry a brand.

2. Anything GM - sans Cadillac. Overall, the GM product portfolio is fast improving compared to where they were a few years ago, but I think there is still more to prove. A really good Camaro can't cover what is bad about the company. Also, I hate the "Real People" commercials. Plus, Chevy has a terrible design language. God the old Caviler sucked. Ever ridden in one? It was terrible in every way. I still think about it.

3. Subaru - Besides the WRX/ STI / BRZ, what do they offer? Good marketing and that's it.

4. Lincoln - I can just get the Platinum version of the Ford vehicle and save some cash.

5. Nissan - This is irrational, but I don't like anything they do. I couldn't tell you one redeeming factor about any of their products, and this includes Infiniti. Even though the G60 coupe is cool looking, I'd just get a C-Class Coupe.

6. Eh, no point continuing one. I made my horrible points.

Yep, them big Ford engines burn some oil ...... that just shows that the cylinder walls are being lubricated real well. By adding a quart every now and then, just refreshes the supply ....... ;)

I'm 63 years old. The average age of the seniors I drive around is about 83. So I figure I've got a good 10 to 15 years of driving them around - hopefully NOT in this 2011 Ford e-series! I will say this - it's the most rewarding job I've ever done - and it's just my little post-retirement, get-out-of-the house job. I'm trying to tell MGMT that they should invest in a new vehicle, but seriously, I don't think there's anything else out there that can do the job this Ford does....still don't like it though.....

Ahhhh.......yes, 63 years old; AARP already has your number, SS and medicare are just around the corner, soon every crematory in your area will want to burn up your body and lenders will want you to sign up for a reverse mortgage.

Anything in Mitsubishi's current lineup, as they're disgusting and lack any sort of soul and the interior is hardly good enough to be a base rental car.

Also, after owning a Focus ST for the past 4 years, I can confidently say I'll never own another Ford product again.

Also wouldn't touch anything Italian with my own money. They make some fantastic cars, but I'd much rather just rent one for a week or a few days or something. No way would I spend my own money to buy one though.
