My BR86 uses a little - perhaps 150-200ml/5K kms so it's not much of a worry but because "I know" I check it often just to be sure, pretty much every week in the same spot @ the same time.

On the other hand my previous gen7 Celica GTS NEVER drank a drop until it got to about 300K kms but even then it would have been less than my new BR86 ! My old MCV20R Camry with the 1MZ-FE is only 90K kms old & I'm 100% confident it uses NIL oil but I still check it - just to be sure.

For me Subaru make average motor cars & it shows up in the JD Power surveys that are often done, Toyota / Lexus are about as good as it gets for bombproof reliability, efficiency & longevity.

What is a "BR86"?

My ten year old grandson rides back there all the time. He is short and stubby and the only battle is when his 5' 11" fifteen year old brother insists on pushing the seat back too far by "accident". Then there can be bloodshed.

Toyota inspected and claimed no evidence of oil burning; straight up refused any warranty claims and tried to throw me a bill for a new engine.

I hire a guy who specializes in engine analysis, he finds incorrectly torqued heads from factory (causing them to warp and leak), severe oil useage and over application of gasket material.

I'm still fighting Toyota on this, but it's pretty clear these engines were not put together from the factory. I have to take this to civil court to recover costs, but Toyota was quite prepared to leave me high and dry. Has anyone considered a class action?

How long have you had the car? Where did you take the car for a pre-purchase used car inspection?

Nonsense. I had the entire Japanese Women's Olympic Archery team ride in my 86 last year. So we know three women will fit (though to be sure one of the rear seat passengers had to put her feet on the seat).

They sure enjoyed the mild drifting I did as well. It was only about a mile long drive, there's no way that would be OK for a longer trip.

Dealership experience can make a shit car tolerable and a great car miserable and take a mediocre car and make it great or awful, as evidenced with many threads posted here about people selling their car over minor problems that their dealer refuses to address.
