Anyone Go Offroading in their BRZ/FRS?

I've been driving offroad with my 2013 Subaru BRZ for the sheer enjoyment. Drive a mile or two on dirt, muddy hills, sand, etc from the nearest road and have a blast. Maybe find a steep cliff, drive to the very edge, get out with the girlfriend and stare at the beautiful view.

Other times I just go a hundred feet off the road and drift/donut in the dirt until I couldn't see a damn thing if I drove 100 feet ahead.

Often times the dirt will be incredibly uneven, like little canyons of dirt that dip 2 feet, requiring some accurate handywork to drive 10+ mph.

And at the end of the day, dirt is packed into the wheels, the grill, the exhaust tips...and I could not have had a better time.

I decided to post this after being mostly inactive for 18 months because I was recently brought to light an interview of Matt Hummel, someone with an old Porsche that does the exact same thing. I'm wondering if he and I are the only ones that really do this kind of thing.

Only if I can't find a place to turn around ...... :sigh:

Not me. I'd be leaving parts behind if I went anywhere with more than a 3" dip or bump. I can certainly understand the pleasure of off-roading, though. I have done that worry-free in my 2013 Outback.

I tried my brz on the dirt once and found that it didn't have enough ground clearance for potholes and ruts , so i bought a swbzook rock crawler for where the road is not.

Ya. I would be lucky is I could clear the dip from pavement to dirt in many places. Would not take much to end up center bound and turn the car into a teeter totter.

When my brother got married, they held the ceremony on an old 1800s plantation.

The road to the house was gravel, with a center portion of grass that suck up from the tire tracks on either side. For a Camry, CR-R, or F-150, easy!

The entire time I heard 'clunk' 'screech' 'thunk' 'bang.' Plus the suspension wasn't having any of it. My car gets confused by small speed bumps... so.

That is the most off road I have and ever want to be.

I've left mine stock height, so no worries.

Around the north side of Lake Quinalt is single lane gravel, but a nice road still, and scenic.
With the windows down I kept hearing this strange crackling noise that I wasn't getting on the asphalt.
It was all the dried leaves.

There's even a school for it.

Yes, but it wasn't intentional.

I've gone down my share of dirt roads and such, but no real off-roading. I already have my reference picture for when I'm ready to mod for that though. I think this would be a fun project with a 10 year old FRS/BRZ.

I have a serious rally fetish, but I don't think I'd ever take my frs offroad. Hot lava is way too pretty to fuck up with rocks and dirt.

I am really curious about those tiny stacked windows. Why not one bigger window?
