clutch spring question

hi there just recently picked up my brz and having some trouble with 1st gear i cannot feel the clutch biting point at all
i was reaserching and found out that people remove these springs to get a better feel of the clutch now my question was that if i removed the spring would it cause any pre mature wear on the clutch as in wearing out? or burning it? thanks!

It doesn't change the engagement point. For that you would have to adjust your clutch pedal height. It just assists those drivers with pipe cleaner legs.

So removing the clutch spring doesn't harm the car in any way, correct?

Correct.

Just makes the clutch harder to push if the spring is removed. You'll adapt to the feel in time and be thankful it's there in heavy traffic.

I tried to perform the procedure this past weekend, couldn't at all figure out how to get my head, shoulders, and arm(s) in place to where I could do it. Others haven't mentioned much trouble, so I must be missing something pretty obvious -- any tricks to recommend?

Did removing the spring accomplish what you wanted?
