2016 Subaru BRZ Spark Plug Options
 

I used the search feature and turned over a couple unclear threads so I figured I'd ask myself and see if I can get a clear answer. I'm getting a random misfire and I suspect cylinder 1 to have a bad plug. I was just going to do all the plugs since I already did the coil pack but wanted to avoid a stealership price that Subaru offers.

Has anyone used a different branding of spark plugs and if so which ones did you go with?

My warranty is voided everywhere it can be so going to the dealership for warranty work is not an option.

Buy the plugs at the dealership, and install them yourself or take them somewhere else to install. Its only 4 plugs at 20 something each. The plugs themselfs are very durable, I still have my 2013 original plugs on a car that sees track very frequently and is a DD. You might want to just swap that one plug if you are having trouble, specially if its a plug on the bank 1 (passenger side) as those are reachable without lifting the engine or removing too much hardware. My $0.02

After some more reading that's probably the direction I'm going to be heading. I was just hoping that someone had luck with some NGK plugs or something...

Yep, $20 per plug x 4 plugs = $80 for 50,000 miles ...... now, that ain't bad compared to the old days ....... do the math ......:)

I use HKS plugs, which are re-branded NGKs and gapped down to .028. I am turbocharged though so my situation and results may not be the same as yours.

You mean ignition coil?

My local Subaru dealer changed my spark plugs for 260$ all parts included. I figured I could have done it myself but the process looked horrible. I know some people says it isn't bad but with almost 100$ in parts, I figured the extra 160$ was worth my time.
