Suspension or joint noise after driving?
Hi 86 family,
I'm trying to figure out an issue that I've been having for his last month. The car has to be driven a bit until it starts making rattle noises under the driver side wheel well. When I go at a low speed on brick road or minor bumps I hear a rattle. When I turn all the way right and reverse, there's a metal clunk noise. When I park the car with the steering wheel turned all the way to the right and close the door, it makes a rattle. Any ideas? My suspicions are the CV joint or ball joint but I'm not sure. Thanks. |
First off, any mods done to the car, coilovers lowering springs or any other suspension stuff?
|
Jack it up, take that wheel off and start pushing and pulling things - looking for something that is loose.
Is the rattle tinny or metal to metal? |
No mods at all. Stock as of now. Sounds tinny when I slam the door with the wheel turned all the way right.
|
There isn't anything on the suspension that would budge even if you slammed the door hard enough to break it. The masses and forces aren't in the same ballpark. Maybe they are two different noises.

Thanks! I just took it to Toyota and I was way off haha seems like the skid plate was missing some screws.

Bone stock you say? And it's a 2016? See if they can look into it under warranty. (They being the dealership)
Nevermind... I just saw your post saying it was the skidplate. lol |
