Custom Car Air Freshener

Does anyone know where i can get a car air freshener, but be able to fill it with my own "scent"? Essentially, I'd love to use my cologne as a mild car air freshener, but can't seem to find anything.

I know it's a trivial matter, but hey, the new car smell only lasts so long...

cologne is alcohol based and really only designed to last about a day before it completely diffuses into the air. most air fresheners for cars use oils and are designed to slowly diffuse over months. you could get one of those hanging ones, and keep your cologne in your car and give it a spritz regularly, or just find a commercial one that smells similar.

i get mine from japan, where the selection of scents is insane. looks like you can get them on amazon though:

^Those JDM spencers smell pretty good but refills are damn expensive. Could never get myself to buy one. The Shaldans last longer though, it's what everyone in my family uses.

As for me, I just throw Little Trees in the cabin filter. I prefer the Black Ice. It's got a fresh smell.

EDIT: As for new car smell, some interior detailers have that sort of smell. I have a leather interior and the conditioner I use has that sort of smell. Everytime someone gets a ride with me, they keep saying it smells new.

I'm convinced the 'new car' smell is a conspiracy. That stuff you can get from the detailers (and I believe stores even sell a spray for it) is probably all there is of the scent and they spray it on at the factory XP It's a trick I tell you!

But seriously, to the OP, spray it on the interior every so often, or on an old, dead one. You could maybe find a sealed package and try soaking a dead air freshener in the stuff, maybe that'll work, but as Mpowered said, it won't last long no matter what you do. Hope the cologne isn't expensive.

It's not too bad in terms of price and that's why i'm even considering it. I'd just prefer my car to smell like me, as opposed to cherry, strawberry, and in some cases squash (which makes no sense to me)

you know that most colognes and perfumes are carcinogenic? So is "new car scent". It's basically just plastics and glues off-gassing.

It makes me sad that people want to smell any of these toxins.

breathing air is carcinogenic...shit everything is carcinogenic.

If i had a choice, i'd rather smell like my cologne than my gym bag lol.
