Track/street safety equipment
 

Is there a good way to install safety equipment in our cars without going all out on a cage? I move around quite a bit, and the car is fairly quick on track, so some safety equipment would be nice. I just don't want to rip out all of the rear interior if I can help it. I know a few people run harness bars with seats and harnesses, and they're okay with that. However, in a rollover event, you're trapped sitting straight up with nothing protecting you. Do you guys have any suggestions?

I went with Autopower rollbar (main hoop was welded). Decent fit and finish. I wanted to save weight (track car) so didnt install the rear interior. Others have done it perfectly fine.

VAC has a decent seat mount with the submarine and lap belt mount kit (no holes or drilling required). Add your fav seat and 6 point harness and you're golden.

What interior pieces can actually be installed around one of those? I looked into that, but it doesn't look like the headliner will fit above it, and that's where I draw the line lol. I can live without the rear seat and trim panels.

I went with a Cantrell Motorsports roll bar (quarter cage), Recaro seats, Schroth 6 point harness and HANS.

Headliner fits perfectly fine!! If anything we never had to remove it in the first place. Freddy from PTuning helped with the welds and final install (on this forum).

Also, stay away from harness bars. More and more track day organizations are not allowing them. And I am sure you know but in case you don't; don't use harness's with OEM seats. And since you have harness's now you should consider a hans device.

Its a slippery and expensive slope when you add safety. It either all needs to be done at once, or else it is more safe to just leave it stock.
