I hope so! I pulled out the mounts to weld them up tonight. Hopefully tomorrow I can pull the crossmember out and final weld in the lower mount brackets to the crossmember

Mounts are welded up and complete. Next is drop the crossmember, and weld on the tacked in lower motor mount . Doing that now. Then bolt it all together and check everything still fits.

I finished welding the mount plates to the crossmember. Did a test fit I was able to start all the bolts, but there is some side load on the bolts. I will need to clearance the holes with a dremel or one size up with a drill bit.

Drilled holes one size bigger on upper and lower mounts. Everything went together easily. Next items to tackle are confirm correct driveline
angles, rework trans mount as needed, steering rack mounts, and steering shaft fab from column to rack.

I adj. the driveline angles I'm able to get on the vertical plane engine 1° down, driveshaft .5° down, Differential 0°. This seems to be about the best I can get. I need to get the readings on the horizontal plane. Not a fan of the offset pinion on the differential.

What are you using to take these measurements? What tools and method?

Zer0 09-24-2019 01:43 PM

Digital protractor to measure the degree, and direction of the slopes of the engine, driveshaft, and differential then a little math, or plug it into a app to do it for you. That's for the top to bottom angles. The side to side angles will be trickier. I will be starting work on those on my day off.

Started the transmission mount build. Pictures are the upper portion of the mount transmission side. Next will be the lower portion on the chassis side. I may lighten the trans side with a few holes still.

Reshaped the upper mount, and made the center bushing section for the lower mount.

I have been working on the chassis side of the transmission mount. I have plates built for the underside the transmission tunnel, and plates that sandwich the sheet metal of the tunnel with plates on the inside of the passenger compartment. Here is a picture of the chassis side trans mount center section.

That turned out great

Test fit. Inside plate one on each side, and mount holding the transmission in its final location. Will pull out, and powder coat the fabricated mount kit and crossmember. Hopefully this week. Probably more like 2 weeks out. Forgot about making the rack and sway bar mounts.
