Headlight issue...molding...

I was outside and noticed that my driver side headlight seems off its mold.

The other side is barely visible and couldnt take a good photo of it.. Anyone else have this issue?

Tell the dealer to fix it! ;)

wow..get a new bumper??

What is with the poor fitment of all these panels and trim bits? Subaru assembly workers put stuff together like blind and drunk guys with the shakes.

As someone who has always appreciated the detail-oriented and meticulous nature of the Japanese growing up, this is just getting embarrassing.

Do you know if it's been that way from the factory? May not be an assembly worker issue necessarily, but perhaps it warped due to some environmental factor...heat, cold, etc. Of course it shouldn't do that, but may be premature to jump to the "worker was being careless" assumption.

As far as i know it's been this way since it arrived here.

It doesn't get condensation so it looks like its sealed just a minor imperfectiOn that I noticed in poor lighting at night: I never noticed it during the day these past 6 weeks.

Can someone upload a picture of the driver side headlight area under the hood.

Left hand side of the assembly in first picture and right hand side in second picture

I am trying to see if these are the original bolts.

It may have been damaged at port and been repaired before reaching the dealer. You'd be surprised how often that happens.

Yes, those are the original bolts.

My friend came by and looked at it.
Turns out its the clip. If you push the bumper in, it aligns up and the gap is gone.

So swinging in to the dealer so they can fix it.

Why not jump to that conclusion...haven't you seen the TSB/photos regarding all the poorly fitting panels and trim?

I've never had a Subaru before, but are all these assembly issues par for the course? My family has owned a new car from just about every Japanese carmaker
under the sun, and the cars built IN JAPAN just didn't have issues like this...

Looking at old photos I took a few weeks back it's fine. So the clip most have gotten loose recently. I would have noticed
It last Saturday when I washed the car.
