question about brz/fr-s front fender vents

Ss there any easy way to change the vents on a brz to look like the scion/toyota with just the 86 piston emblem???

The reason Im asking is I really prefer the toyota/scion look but Id like the premium features of the brz.

If I get a brz I would swap bumper for scion one and get jdm fogs and headlights along with clear side markers but i dont like the side vent on the brz but I do prefer the rear wing on the brz so If i get a scion id have to put that on.

So is it possible?

are they just like the brand emblems where floss and some patience and a hair dryer will get them off or are they actually bolted on??

the fr-s looks like it come off easy but the brz not so much so just wondering if any one knows... and if so how hard it would be

Well this is backwards. Most want the BRZ vents.

The vents are both the same They just have different faces. I believe that there is two or three metal clips.

The entire vent/fender piece would need to be swapped out. The FR-S/86 panel is molded to the shape of the 86 logo, while the BRZ "vent" is just molded to look like a vent even though it's solid.

hmm so i would need two entire fenders not just the vents with the metal clips??

can any1 confirm.. and if so thats really a bummer

as far as i know u just need to buy the frs vent piece and swap them out...
MemphisR said its just held in by 2 or 3 metal clips.

Not the entire fender, just the part in front of the door, the "vent" as it were. And they aren't metal clips, and there are more like 5-6 per vent, as you can see in the bottom 2 pictures.

Notice how the blue rises up to meet the badge here on my FR-S:

wow thanks for clearin this up. really appreciate it, thats not nearly as bad as doin both enders. just need ther vent pices n logos

I'll be pulling a pair of red 86 vents off in a few weeks.

im pulling my brand new white 86 vents off also if anyone wants to swap for white brz ones or $$$???

So I looked at my vents because I was thinking about warping them. Looking at the plastic pieces that hold them on does it take a special tool to remove them? The last thing I want to do is screw them up and have to replace the vents. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah r u able to pop the vents off just with a bit of force or does the bonnet need to be up to remove???

Honestly, I am just waiting for a company to come out with an FR-S vent without the 86 logo. The car would look soooooooo much cleaner without it.
