OCV Keeps Failing P000B Fault Code
Hey guys,
I hoping someone here can help me out with some reoccurring issues I've been having. Back on the 26th of May I took my car into the dealership for a P000B fault code. I found this out by using my open flash tablet to read the fault codes stored on the ecu after having some idle issues and a CEL/SL come on. My brz has stock intake with only a catback exhaust and no tune. The Dealership kept it until the 27th of June (1 month). During that time they replaced 1 13321AA031 SPKT AY CMS EXH RH 1 10921AA240 VALVE AY-OIL CONT 1 806916080 O RING 16.1 X 2.3 3 806912190 O RING 12.1 X 2.5 1 806924120 O RING 23.8 X 2.8 1 806933060 O RING 44.0 X 2.6 1 16677AA040 RING BACK UP 6 SOA635045 SYNTHETIC 0W-20 OIL QT 8 SOA635041 SUPER COOLANT 1 803916010 GASKET 1 SOA868V9610 THREE BOND 1217H When I got the car back everything was running well, but then about two weeks later (around July 10th) I had the same issues come back. Took it back into the dealership the following day (July 11th). Spent an hour while they diagnosed the issue. They swapped my right exhaust OCV with the right intake OCV and the problem changed from a P000B to a P000A. So they replaced the OCV and the CEL and faults codes no longer came up. It's been another 2 weeks and I have another P000B fault code showing on my OFT. I'll be taking it to the dealership again this week, but I'm curious why I keep getting this issue. Maybe my dealership didn't replace something they were supposed to? I've read the TSB for this issue and the only thing I can see from the flow chart that wasn't replaced was the ECM, but to my knowledge I have never had a P0016, P0017, P0018 or P0019 code come up. My BRZ is a 2016 model that I got last year in May. It's still under warranty so everything is being fixed for free.... for now. Sorry for this being so long and winded, but I want to make sure I provide as much information on this as possible. Any information that could be provided by you guys would be greatly appreciated. |

.....and right there is the problem ....... :sigh: Sorry, I can't be of any help - that's over my pay grade, however we have some "experts" on the way ....... as soon as they get to the shade tree ......;) humfrz |
Those cam codes are nasty, it can be due to multiple defects with ovc, cam sprockets, cam sensors, and even the ecu.
see the TSB section their are about 3 tsb on the issues It often takes multiple visits to repairer to resolve, lucky your under warantee, it can be very expensive fix |
Thanks for the input guys. I guess I will just keep bringing it back to my dealership and have them continue trying to fix it under warranty. I've read the 3 TSBs and I'll have to print them out and give them to my dealership so they can attempt some of these other fixes.
