Car wants to boost rather than shifting

Hey all. I have a 2014 AT BRZ. I've had a ton of problems since I installed my FBM turbo.

The problems started when a downpipe fitment issue melted the wire to my passenger-side cam sensor. This caused a fuse to blow and prevented a start every time I tried to start the car.

I fixed the wire, but a few days later the car started to run very rough on the freeway. I pulled off at the first exit before it stalled. I took it to a shop, and they found that the DI ECU had failed. They replaced the ECU, and the car was fine for a couple weeks.

I took it to my tuner on his recommendation last week. He said the tune was a mess and reflashed it. He noted that I'm getting a lot more blow-by considering a bit of smoke from my vented catch can. He said he thought the car had been running very lean after the ECU failed, and sounded grim about what this could mean.

Over the past few days, I noticed a clicking/tapping sound from the passenger side of my engine. At first I only noticed it around 1500 RPM, but I feel like it's louder and more frequent now. On the way home today I noticed that the car seemed to lack power.

At the top of second gear, it seems to go into boost rather than shifting up, even when applying the gas gently. I avoided going over 1 or 2 PSI for fear of damaging something. My gauge reads -19 or -20 when not applying gas. One of my friends suggested a boost leak. I'll take it to a shop as soon as I can, but I'm wondering if anyone else has ideas what the problem could be.

not referring to every mile but a distance.
try substituting the word distance for "2000 miles"

Nothing inherently wrong with FI or specifically a turbo if they are done right.
Are you taking it to the shop that installed it?
If so, try another.

Yeah, it goes to a shop tomorrow. I'm just trying to anticipate how hard it's going to hit my wallet. RIP my mod plans for the rest of the year.

I did the install with a more experienced friend. I learned a lot, but the aftermath has shown me that it really wasn't worth it. Still, I haven't been able to clearly trace which of the problems were due to mistakes we made, and which are just bad luck.
