I completely agree with Doug's review and hopefully Andreas Preuninger is true to his word by cracking down on dealers who try and flip them for profit. Only 918 owners get dibs on the 911R, same with the GT2RS.

Looks like I saved $470K by purchasing a BRZ!

Saw Patrick Dempsey's 911R at a meet up in Maine this past weekend. Beautiful car, not worth $500k though.
If I was going to drop that kind of coin I'd much sooner buy a GT4 AND a Mclaren 570S and I'd still come in under budget by enough money to pay the insurance on both for 3 years hahaha. |
Yeah, I agree, 500k for 911R is not worth it. If I remember they had 185k base price and paying close to 500k for used one is simply absurd. GT3 or something instead is more worth it!!

It's more of an investment. The exotic classics market is super hot whenever the economy is good. I'm sure whoever bought a 250 GTO in 1962 for $15000 didn't think it would be selling for $54,000,000 USD 50 years later, but here we are. I'm guessing the 911R won't reach those prices, but you never know. In 20 years it might be at a cool mil.
