Design the Stillen FR-S Body Kit contest!

STILLEN is offering amateur designers the chance to submit renderings of a Scion FR-S lip/body kit that consists of a front lip spoiler, side rockers, and rear valances. The top 5 designs will be picked by the STILLEN design team and a winner wil be picked by the public on Facebok . Full Rules Here

Multiple entries okay
Top 5 entires will be voted on facebook
Entries can be digital or hand-drawn, but must be on the provided templates
Enter as few or as many angles as you want

If you don’t have pro rendering skills, still enter!
We’re looking mostly at shape/design

it would be really sweet if we could just get a one piece carbon fiber front bumper version of the TRD kit. minus the fish lips around the grill.

Stillen FR-S/86 Body Kit Design Contest

Just thought that I would share this with you guys. A pretty good chance to design your own and get it marketed and seeing your own design out in the streets. Let's see some ART.

Specifically, the body kit designs Stillen is looking for are for an add-on lip kit all around the vehicle, something intended to be made from urethane (sorry, guys, no carbon-fiber or fiberglass work here).

The focus of this first-of-its-kind promotion is on design shape and features over technical skill, and Stillen will accept everything from hand-drawn sketches to full blown digital renderings. In fact, it is encouraging people to submit more than one design if they choose.

The submission period runs from July 18 through August 14, 2012, and on its conclusion the list of entrants will be narrowed to five by Stillen. Once the entries have been pared down the company will post the designs on its Facebook page (www.facebook.com/stillen) for the public to “like.” The design with the most thumbs up will get produced by STILLEN, and the winning design will be unveiled at this year’s SEMA Show.

The grand prize winner will receive:
- Their body kit design manufactured by Stillen
- 2 days lodging in Las Vegas for the 2012 SEMA Show
- 2 day passes to the 2012 SEMA Show for the unveiling of their design for the first time

Stillen has already begun development on items for the Scion FR-S, including a col-air intake system, cat-back exhaust system, big brake kit, sway bars and more. For its polyurethane body kit, it has decided to let the enthusiasts of the world develop the design it will produce.

It sounds like Stillen is saving a bunch of money not having to hire designers and then the "winner" never gets a dime of the sales... :thumbdown:

(I get this sort of thing all the time since I do work in animation and people trying to mooch free work never stops getting frustrating.)

Want to do this but I'm not a US resident, sigh.

I think a big "Thank You" from the community will be had when someone designs a more "extreme" lip-spoiler on the trunk.

First Entry..thoughts before i submit.

Front dams are too sharp at the side and come outside of the line of the vehicle in such a way that the kit would not be legal for street use. Could just be the angle, but maybe soften the edge and draw it in a little?

Other than that, it is a body kit I would actually consider buying as it does not change the lines of the car very much, but adds a nice level of detail. Very nice work man!

I really like both Snoopy and Wings design submissions and I normally dislike aftermarket body kits. They both look sharp and clean and seem to compliment, rather than needlessly add to the FR-S/GT-86's design and natural curves. So much better than the mess of Fast and Furious body kits being put out by design houses.
