dent on resonator

1 Attachment(s)
As you guys can see below, there is a somewhat noticeable dent on the resonator. Was just wondering if this kind size of a dent could affect anything? (perform/sound) I've posted this before and was told that it won't affect anything but that was w/o the picture. Now that I provided a picture and I just want to know if an answer is still the same. Thank you guys all.

bump
I installed it regardless of it's dent and it sounds amazing. just out of curiosity, are there any way that I can pop that dent out to make it flat? (muffler shop,tools and etc) (its stainless steel btw) because if it can be fixed, then I'll do so later... nothing wrong with the sound at all I'm just a perfectionist :O

Unless your pipe is crushed into a thin paste where exhaust air can't pass though or have trouble passing though, it's gonna be fine

Thks boss. but like I said I was just wondering if there is any way that dent can be fixed. I'm just a typical dude who wants to be everything perfect ;)

Well, first off, @zizon93 after living for 74 years, and have traveled throughout Europe and North America, and lived all over the US, if that dent in that resonator is bothering you that much ..... I reckon ...... you're NOT a "typical dude who wants to be everything perfect".

And that's OK, we all have our own sense of what's "right".

Yes, the dent can be fixed. This is how I would suggest you can have it fixed.

* take off the mid pipe

* cut the end off of the resonator

* have a PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) person coax the dent out

* weld the end back on

* polish the repaired section to your liking

* reinstall the mid pipe

There ya go ....... :thumbsup:

Like @humfrz explained it, the equivalent would be something like doing a skin graft because of a zit. Really that thing is just fine. This is an opportunity to practice the art of letting go.

Ooooommmmmm....
