3 Attachment(s)
Hello there,
My Brz is FI on fbm stage 1 turbo kit and today after just 3 minutes of redline when i came into a complete stop the car went off immedietly. I immedietly contacted my tuner and he asked me to clean the throttle and i did it did work until i tried stepping on the pedal a little bit and heard an air leak !
Please solutions
This is what i found after checking the intake manifold could it he the only reason?

Are you suggesting your manifold sprung a leak under the heat shielding?

That's odd sorry about your luck if it is melted. Replace it with a metal one

It seems unlikely that would happen but not impossible. I assume you have checked all the piping from the turbo to the manifold for leaks already?

That silver heat foil that you see is just that, the adhesive bond that mates it to the surface of underneath the manifold often degrades and makes it appear that there is a slit in the intake manifold. It has happened to me, and it is more than likely fine. You have more of a probability of those EVAP solenoid hoses popping off under boost....have you clamped them down? Best way to test is to do a smoke test.
