I don't want green lights but I'm assuming the slight blue in the factory hids will mix with the yellow of the covers and make green

JoeC 07-10-2017 03:34 PM

oh I see what you are saying. That's what you meant by affecting the output. I thought you were trying to correct the color by adding yellow tint. But yeah, I would think putting a film over your headlights would affect their output.

Pho20 07-10-2017 06:35 PM

I ordered some if they suck I'll pull em off there like $50

ryoma 07-10-2017 10:01 PM

unless you live in an area where it's constantly foggy, the yellow tint will only degrade your headlight performance at night. plus, I think it might be illegal as well to have tinting over your headlights lol

I only put the yellow Lamin-X film on the fog lights.

bababooey 07-12-2017 05:04 PM

i as well only have them on the fogs, more for looks. not concerned with function as weather rarely gets foggy around here.
@J2K might could chime in concerning a green output.

Ernest72 07-12-2017 08:11 PM

No loss of light on my WRX fog lights. I would not put them on headlights.

Pho20 07-14-2017 08:58 AM

Well they shipped I'm going to try to make it to the tint shop Monday to have them put on

J2K 07-14-2017 10:33 AM

I had a yellow vinyl tint on my headlights. best to say is just yellow light at night. It does put less strain on your eyes at night when driving around. and works amazing in fog. But that said its about 80% from normal. but it will lite up markers and anything that reflects as clear as day. also Rims/wheels on other cars lite up as yellow also might be easier to see other cars.

Thanks for posting! your build is why I decided to go with yellow headlights

I thought about doing this. For me, it wasnt output that was the concern, but rather cracked plastic.

Google it before you tint your headlights. Its a well known and documented problem.
