wave rejected

I have spotted 3 different twins on my way to go to church today and not once I got wave back after I properly gave them a huge thumbs up. Instead, they just stared at me like I was an idiot Lol... kinda feel sad because from what I've heard we usually exchange those kind of things but not in Atlanta I guess :/

just my rant though :o .. nothing too serious

Scrappydoo 07-10-2017 07:07 AM

Did you pray for them?

I have noted the following since owning my BRZee:

1. GT86 drivers ignore the car
2. GT86 Lava - acknowledge the car.. I think @Tcoat falls into this category as he posts on both the FRS and BRZ sections, he don't care!
3. WRX drivers ignore the car
4. Twats in STs and the like want to race...
5. I am yet to see another BRZ on my travels so unsure how they will respond.

When I see another twin driver, I'll usually look if they look back. I'll acknowledge the car and if we stop next to each other, I'll usually nod there and reply if they initialize conversation. I rarely take the initiative unless I see some mod that I like.

I get more thumbs up from WRX/STI owners than twins lol.

According to that article, the best car in red is a Ferrari California, and the best car in Orange is a Toyota Prius....

Anyway, I've noticed it's a 50/50 chance you get a wave-back. The car isn't restricted to enthusiasts at it's price point, so the folks on the other end might be thinking there is some other reason you are waving and getting very confused. If you are used to driving a Camry, you wouldn't wave at all the other Camry drivers.

I still don't understand why any of us would expect someone driving an Impreza to wave. Would you expect a wave from a Forester? Then why would you expect one from a WRX?

I also have to laugh at people getting bent out of shape when other people don't wave. I'm in three different enthusiast communities, two of them Jeep-related. The FSJ people always wave at each other because there's pretty much nobody left driving one who isn't a full-blown enthusiast. Even if you're not an enthusiast, you become one as you attempt to keep the thing on the road.

However, dumbass Fiat-Chrysler has trademarked "The Jeep Wave" and has started using it as a marketing gimmick. Recently they flooded the wire feeds for television and radio news with stories about the Jeep wave, and of course the producers at numerous televisions stations were dumb enough to send reporters out to do stories on it. Our local stations did stories on it, and now suddenly the local Jeep FB groups are flooded with whining from people that nobody waves at them when they drive their Compass or Renegade (neither of which hardcore Jeep people consider to actually be Jeeps). Cherokee and Wrangler people have never really considered themselves part of the same community, yet now you even have Cherokee drivers whining about not getting a wave. Boo hoo.

If you want to wave at another 86 driver, do it. But for the love of god please let's not turn into a bunch of whiny bitches when we don't get a wave back like the people drinking the Fiat Koolaid.

Watched a guy on a cheapass electric scooter give the biker wave to a guy on a chopped Harley the other day. He got a wave in response but it only involved one finger.

There are hundreds of such articles. Many of them are very conflicting. I doubt there is much actual science behind any of them.

OP should just switch to a Golf.
