What do you guys think??

So gentleman a question. I own a 09 Honda civic lx-s sedan 5 speed manual. I was considering keeping it when the FT-86 gets here, but now I am pondering trading the civic in for a prius and still purchasing the FT-86. What do you guys think? Prius or keep the CiviC?

if you can swing all that, then i would. nothing against civic but toyota should have the plugin prius by the time this FT comes out; which would get near 70mpg i bet and might be good if you're driving spiritedly and burning thru gas in your FT haha.

Why not go diesel? Specifically VW diesel. Just throwing it out there.

That is an option as well, just have to see how diesel prices look in the coming years

haha, i think it's funny how different perspectives can be.

you're going to be using the FT as the fun car, and have a different fuel saving car, and i'm looking at using the FT as my fuel saving car. :) i just think it's amusing to look at things from other angles.

speaking of, do we have any idea what kind of mileage this thing is going to get? if it's near 200hp, i'm gonna guess mid 20s city, 30+ highway? i'm assuming premium.

I hope not premium. On the perspectives. I got rid of all my gas guzzlers. Now I want efficent and super efficent lol

NESW20 10-29-2009 01:34 PM

my MR2 actually gets roughly 30mpg highway, as long as i stay out of boost. and my truck doesn't do too badly with it, either, i'm usually around 18mpg mixed, and 20mpg highway-only. and i won't get rid of either. the practicality and functionality of my truck is amazing.

and you can bet i won't be taking the 2 or the 86 certain places my truck goes! :)

Yea no doubt lol. I don't live anywhere near an are where I could use a truck like that or I would so have one !

I say keep the civic. Why bother adding another new car payment (considering you're already planning on getting the 86).

the AEM helps with that. ;) the stock tune is VERY rich. i think most near-stock MR2 turbos get 24-27mpg.

Kepp the civic. With proper hypermiling you could get prius numbers. If you feel the need for speed....FT-86
