PADA Presents: Thurs - June 29th - OPP Show & Shine Event

Hi there folks!

As some of you may know, I'm an instructor at Pinnacle Advanced Driving Academy and in part of our out-reach program, we've hooked up with the Ontario Provincial Police to assist with their public campaign against street racing.

WHEN AND WHERE: We're doing a show and shine in Vaughan Mills at the mall parking spot in front of Bass Pro Shops this Thursday, June 29th.

For more details, please visit: https://www.facebook.com/events/1862...A%22null%22%7D

We've been assured by the OPP that this is NOT an "enforcement event" and officers will not be handing out tickets etc. either at the event or leaving the event. The event is being held to engage the car enthusiast community and build bridges with open and frank dialog.

Come on by, show off your cars and swing by the PADA tent and say hi!

Cheers.

Kev

This isn't an enforcement meet. Unless you literally commit a crime in front of them and FORCE them make a move, they aren't there to ticket or grab anyone.

I'm actually more worried about insurance than I ever have about cops.

Lmao this ^, I would rather get a couple hundred dollars in tickets than get misinformation from my insurance company.

Unfortunately I can't make it to this today. Would be a great opportunity to have an open dialog with OPP if they would ever consider co-organizing a track day with some group (like PADA but doesn't need to be PADA....) say at TMP. It would be a huge win IMO if they even participate in the event themselves, would go a long way with *ALL* enthusiasts.

Similar to the YRP cop that agreed to doing an impromptu rap at the Strada event recently.

Thank you everyone who came! There were quite a few FRZ's, WRX'es and all sorts of interesting vehicles (including one Canadian made armoured vehicle!).

Seems like everyone had fun and the OPP were extremely happy with the turnout. They will let us know when they want to do this again.

Good to see the cops and the community work well together. No tickets were handed out as promised and there was great dialog between the OPP and all participants especially regarding left lane bandits, clarifications of the law on RHD vehicles, riding on the shoulder, the big exotic car bust a few months back, etc.

Funnily enough, there were more complaints about REGIONAL cops and not much against the OPP!

Keep your eyes peeled for the next one!

Cheers.

Kev
