225s on 17s
 

so, I presume 100s have fitted 225s on the original 17" wheels....I don't have to roll my guards, do I?

I'm running 245s and its all good nothing is touching

Why do you want to have more rubber on same rims? You'll have more flex and you'll lose steering precision.

That is if he is using the stock wheels
A wider 17s wheel will improve handling and steering

I have done this, MPS4, works a treat. You will lose a little steering feel, but on the road who cares. On the track it is noticeable though...

I also have 225/45-17 on the stock rim. It gives better traction and softer ride than the stock tires. I can't tell much difference in steering for street driving. It takes more power to slide and I prefer that way especially with a supercharger. It is safer.
