Which interior fuse slot to install led interior lighting in?

I got the Opt7 Aura led strips. Which of the fuse numbers in the interior fuse box can I use to have it have power only when the car is on? Also, would it be better if I install it in the hood fuse box instead or does it not matter.

Thanks

Poke the blank slots (if there are any, I haven't looked at my fuse box yet) with a test light and see if there are any that come on when the car turns on and use it. If you have issues I can go check mine and see what I come up with, but it should be super easy.

I used the heated seats circuit(s)

What are the chances a bunch of fuse slots don't work? I plugged it into all the empty slots in the red column but none lit up. When I plugged them into the empty green slots they worked. The green column seems to be the ones on even without the ignition.

So at least I know it's not the product since they work on the slots for always on power. Also one of the FT86SpeedFactory tutorials used one of the slots in the red column. Any ideas for a fix?

Pick up and splice into a switched live wire?

From the radio?

hm I want to leave having to splice as a later resort. Are all those fuse slots that didn't work really busted?

Scrappydoo 06-27-2017 09:24 PM

Just not wired I'd suspect. If there not working, there not working.

Two second job to splice using a scotchlok. Temporary too so you can remove it when you want to.

It all depends, some things will only come on with headlights and the like. Other blank slots may be just that.

Is it normal though for all those blank fuses to not work? It is what it is I suppose

True. I'll take your advice and use the heated seat slot since I don't think I'd ever use mine. Thanks
