Original APR / Hankook / Berk SEMA Car for sale -Carlsbad

Saw this on Craigslist and had to pause.

This particular Lava Red FR-S has been a part of the 86 scene since the car came out. I remember reading about it's build, how it was used to showcase APR's various available parts. Then it was sold on Ebay (I remember seeing the auction, seemed like a great deal at the time.)

Now it seems it's back for sale, at a sensible $22k with all included parts, mods and history. Oh the stories it could tell: booth babes, burnouts and so many dirty little fingers smudging it's windows.

At only 18k miles it's seen little action on the road.

I have no stake in this, I just thought it was an interesting find. If I didn't just pay off my car, I might consider it, just for the story.

I hope people who are throwing 20K at their cars are not expecting to get that money back at some point.

Lava red? RED????
You philistine!

As someone who is shopping for a Twin, this is a very tempting offer, but I don't know if I value the mods as highly as the seller does. His asking price is only several grand away from a new stock 2017 model.

Still though this is a great buy for someone who wants a FRS with a bit more oomph. Looks like it's been properly taken care of, and a lot of the super-shouty bits (stickers and the wing) were removed.

correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the seller have to smog before selling the car in CA? That turbo kit isn't carb legal iirc.

yup the seller has to smog it. Saw this earlier as well, I'll probably take a look at it but should be a nice frs for someone in the market.

Not sure but wouldn't that only apply if being sold as a street car? Can they not have an exception if being sold strictly as a track or show vehicle?

There should be a way to sell it as a track car, or junk :) without smog.

Looks absolutely stunning and I'm sure it'll get snatched up one way or another, I really enjoy my FRS and it's my current daily driver, but man I couldn't imagine driving a car like that on the streets lol, bumpercars and tickets everywhere

Show cars typically suck ass as street cars.

I guess, not too sure on that aspect. But if I'm right from observing the pictures from the posting, it is a street car with that license plate.
