Anyone making/willing to make an 86 emblem for the hood?
...To replace the Scion logo.
I'm torn on using a Toyota logo, but would gladly pay money for a big 86 logo like this but in chrome/black: http://i1.cpcache.com/product_zoom/6...dToSquare=true Just a thought. I'm certainly not capable of making one, but if anyone out there wanted to, I would pay you  Thanks, Coulter |
I want a small one to go on the back myself just a round machined aluminum 86 emblem instead of the GT86 emblem that i have been thinking about.
|
Bump... I can't possibly be the only one interested in something like this. :(

I've stared at my hood trying to imagine it there and I feel like there could possibly be a way. ...and you're in SF, happy to make my car the guinea pig for it. |

lol.. but personally i think a cleaner looking version of the below emblem (get rid of the fill in between the piston shafts), within a coloured oval would look pretty hot. http://www.wreckedmagazine.com/blog/...go-525x350.jpg |
Any progress on this?
I would be interested in just a plain circle 86 emblem, maybe to put on the dash. Would be great to know if something was produced. Thanks! |

If anybody has a leftover emblem and would be willing to drop it in an envelope... I'd be glad to use it for mocking up some CAD designs.
Any machine shop can CNC a $5 piece of aluminum billet, if you give them the IGES/STP file or g-code for CAM. Anodize or paint it, and install with some adhesive. Additionally, you can 3D print it with a tight mesh. Primer and sand it flat, then chrome/color paint it. It should be flat ellipse with 2 pegs like these: http://ft86speedfactory.com/images/sftoyem-2.jpg |
It's not rocket science... just gotta make sure the dimension are correct.
I whipped this up in a couple minutes. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/pictu...pictureid=3802 |

I'm not technically advanced enough to put something like that together. But couldn't you just remove the inner portion and replace it with the circle 86? And/Or, just find a creative way to match the pins to the 86 logo itself? I'm really not into putting a Toyota logo on my car, but an 86 I'd fork over cash in an instant. |

Imagine the horizontally opposed pistons striped across the middle, with the Subaru stars above it and a small Toyota T below it. I drew the connecting rods so that they'd form an S for Scion. Pretty slick. Pro/E crashed before I could save it (or the trail file), but I'll try again tomorrow. Does anybody have a 3D printer, who is willing to donate run time and filler\support material for paypal? Eventually I'll buy one, but $2k is alot for emblems. With a solid print you could primer it and sand smooth, then paint the blue top and red bottom backgrounds, then sand the logos back to primer, brush on some white for the logos and chrome paint for the pistons. Once it's done, encapsulate it all in tabletop epoxy and stick it to the car. I'll get a picture, and it will make alot more sense. |

I want one of these for the front!
Someone make one? |
I made a whole thread for this a while back, and have made posts in many other threads about this topic. Would LOVE for someone to run with it. Please feel free to take any designs from it or whatever, and work your magic!

Considering how im gonna rebadge my car. Im only doing so because of the stupidity that they started! BRZFRSGT86SUBURUSCIONTOYOTA Im removing most of Scion from the car. They simply have nothing much to do with the car besides marketing. I understand Acura being a North America ONLY entity, rebranding Asian and European Hondas as such and I understand spinning off a division such as Saturn to design, manufacturer and distribute their OWN car with new blood But I don't understand Scion. Id like to just refer to this car as a Toyota GT-86 because that is what it is but its actually an FR-S and im confused. Im intending on adding a small TOYOTA emblem on the rear, likely leaving the FR-S badge and replacing the Scion badge with one of the side marker "86" badges as some of you have. From the rear it clearly says Toyota FR-S with the inconspicuous boxer-86 icon that only car enthusiast would get. In the front I was intending on replacing Scion with Toyota BUT again an inconspicuous boxer-86 icon badge would be better. It needs to be SIMPLE just the oval with the "86" inside. It says it all. As far as Subaru is concerned...Its not a Subaru . You can buy one of them if you want Globally. I think the confusion is Scion. |
@scarfo - To each their own. This is v1. It won't go on the car until I'm 100% happy with the end result.
If anybody's got constructive criticism or recommendations (even if it's just discussion or MS Paint), feedback is welcomed. |
