Just an exterior
Let's not talk about its spec/interior/built quality and etc. I honestly think just an exterior of the FR-S/86/BRZ are hands down the winner out of all the competitors such as Mustang, Camaro,370Z.G37, Gen Coupe, MX-5 and a lot more. I really I mean really like the way it looks! Am I gonna look like a fool if I say it even look nicer than cars like Porsche? I truthfully think it is though ... :0

I'm with you buddy haha.

I think so too. It gives me back to the 90's feel yet the design is refreshing.

I guess everyone on this forum is going to agree that our cars look great but I think the designers really got the lines, proportions and balance pretty perfect.
There's a hint of retro yet still modern without being just a fashion trend. It has the proportions and muscularity to give it substance and presence yet still look compact, light and sporty. The bulges over the wheel arches give it a real purposeful look and are beautifully blended in with the very low bonnet which is so low it almost looks like a mid engined race car (because racecar). I've always thought the roof line of the 350/370z looks awkward, with it being too flat (almost concave) toward the rear. The MX5 is so small and dinky, it almost looks toy-like. Adults sitting in one look disproportionately large; like they are in a child's pedal car... and the new one has creepy looking eyes. Boxters have a back end that looks like it should be the front end. The new Mustang is just too retro and lacking in imagination. etc, etc. Mind you, anything out of Italy looks fantastic, Bertone, Pininfarina, etc. (shame the mechanicals are crap). Yes, I know.... all subjective.... but IMO. |
What really took me to the FRS was like how pure of a design the body was given. It looks like something that I would have drawn on paper in elementary school, like your generic beautiful lines and edges sports car that was always tucked in the back of our heads.
I will be honest though, before I got my FRS I was 99% set on a 350z. I love the touring models. The newer Coupe style Mustangs are also beautiful in my eyes, some may disagree. |
The lines on the twins are something that a lot of people overlook in my opinion. They are absolutely beautiful. I remember the first time I saw a BRZ at the NAIAS in Detroit I was blown away by it. It truly has a passion you can feel from just looking at it but especially when hand washing the car. The rear quarter panel and fender are probably my favorite part.

This isn't mine, but it shows it well with the aftermarket mirror. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/01...g?v=1353451794 |

Looks are so subjective. I wouldn't hold it against anyone for thinking the Twins look better lol. |
While I do think all the 86/BRZs look good (the 4 different front bumpers offered so far are each individually cool in my eyes), I also do like the current Mustang, Camaro & Miata designs. It annoys me to hear reviewers like the 2 stooges from Motor Trend cry about the looks especially when they compare it cars that cost so much more..for an entry level sports car our twins have a lot of great body lines (2000GT-ish for sure) and a very classic profile.

Honestly from far away my car looks like a supercar to me and a lot of others. The exterior alone gets a lot of looks out in public and downtown etc.

Best-looking car I've owned too.

The lines in profile are just wonderful. My only wish is that the car were a few inches longer in the back, to give it just a bit more swept-back GT2000 vibe. The rear quarter is just slightly scrunched IMO.

That's exactly why don't understand those who bought this car in black. All the amazing lines are numb in black. Plus it shows dirt 10 seconds after it gets washed.
And I agree with @Tcoat , however I think the Jaguar looks like an upgraded, grown-up version of the FRS. As it should. |
