Driver's side engine oil seepage

Today I noticed an electric cable on the lower rear driver's side (LHD) of the engine was covered in black oily crud. I'm wondering if this is from the rear cam plate as well since its a known issue on the passenger side, how big of a problem it is normally. I can see a few small oily spots but nothing major beyond what's collected on the electric cable.

I'd suggest you clean up the area then check to see where and/or if /how much the leak comes back.

Had the same issue. Turned out to be a timing chain cover leak.

Same exact problem here, but no real oil loss, just sludge gunk stuff on the wire. I'm not worried for now, car has held up for 5 years without a drop in performance, but one day it'll be replaced.
