Cheve´s 2017 BRZ

Hi all,

I´m so happy that I´m finally starting a thread on this subforum :)

I had been wanting to get this car since it came out, but I had to wait to move to the US because back in Spain you cannot change anything to your car without spending tons of money in homologations... So that time arrived last December when I got my beloved BRZ haha

In the meantime I have spent tens of hours lurking these forums looking for inspiration for my "build", and yesterday it started becoming true. I don´t know where is this going to end, but right now I´m going for something clean where form = function. That is, I´ll be adding things that look good to me, and if they don´t add anything in terms of function, at least I´ll try that they don´t substract neither. I even had the time to do a quick and dirty Photoshop mockup

I´m starting mostly with the body, because right now I´m quite happy with the performance, and being a car this new, I want to stay under warranty a bit more. But, with that being said, I couldn´t help myself and had to change the wheels and drop the car a little. So yesterday I got my new wheels and springs installed.

RAYS GRam Lights 57Xtreme 18x8.5 +42 FACE 2 (Concave), matte graphitte
RAYS Dura-Nuts M12x1.25 Black (the old version with the engraved logo)
Michelin Pilot Super Sport 245/40
Eibach Pro (1" drop) on stock struts
SPC Front camber bolts
SPC Rear LCA + Toe kit

Compared with the OEM look, I´m quite happy with it (sorry about the lack of more decent photos, the car is currently super dirty)

I think I got a pretty decent alignment too, but here I´ll have to decide between form or function heh It seems -1.5 on the rear is right for our car, but I like my wheels looking a bit more "straight"...

Next in line is installing most of the body parts + a vynil wrap by August. And putting everything on the track by the end of the summer :)

The TOM´s tail lights are already installed, and I think I´m finally going for the FRS fender garnishes but with the badge shaved. I also have to decide between a front lip or a splitter, but I´ll have to see them with the rest of the parts installed.

In the meantime, any comments or questions are more than welcome :)

Car looks great! Looking forward to see more photos as I'm considering 57Xtremes for mine in the future.

San Jose niccce...what diffuser is that?

The wheels were a good choice, they suit the car well.

 Subscribed. I like the rendered picture and what you did with the front bumper. BTW what body kit is that?

Great backdrop.

Thanks! Body kit is a mix of lots of different ones: spoiler and rear spats are Five Axis AD, rear diffuser is RB v2, side skirts are MPSpeed, and I´m going to customize the front bumper.

All the parts are already in the body shop for paint, I hope to have everything installed in the next 2 weeks.

What are your plans for the front bumper?

Something like this. I want to get closer to the STI concept, and I think the 2017 bumper and moustache are pretty close with a few mods and tricks.

(I think I got the original pic from somewhere in the forum, sorry about the lack of credit, I have tons of images collected for reference heh)

Wow that looks great! I agree the sti concept has been my inspiration for my car. I’ll be following your build closely as I would like to mod my front bumper in a similar fashion. I guess mostly paint/wrap could do the trick.

Some shitty photos straight after the body shop :) (I took some outside, but they don´t do any justice).
It still needs more work, especially the rear diffuser, which does not fit very well and I´ll replace soon along new exhaust tips. And I´m still working on the front grille... But it´s getting there! I love how close it looks to the photoshop renders :) I chose to paint the accents in gloss black because maybe in the future I wrap the car in matte silver.

Very very very nice, form = function is the way to go indeed! Love the choice of wheels
