Gutting the BRZ and putting in a Electric Engine?
I saw this video about EV West and their Electric M3 for Pikes Peak.
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvnCgW5tSsc"]Bill Caswell Takes the BMW M3 Electric Pikes Peak Race Car for a Test Drive - EV West - YouTube[/ame] Now this got me thinking imagine putting a super torquey electric motor into the BRZ. Of course keeping the 50/50 balance I think this chassis would be a great car to convert to an electric. I think we have something here when you get a Rally driver get all excited driving a car on the street :party0030: |
That's really interesting that they have made that race track look like normal suburban streets.

I'm sure it would be a fun project, but it's highly impractical, as you would pretty much have to give up the tiny backseats and likely a good portion of the already small trunk to fit the batteries. |
Well at least when someones says "what MOTOR you got in it?", they'll be using the correct term. I dont know why motor and engine mix ups bother.

I don't understand why they were driving a race car on the street either, but I'm all for any advancements in technology that make for fun EV's. Hybrid gas-electrics and EV's will be a big part of the automotive landscape sooner or later, so the sooner they can figure out a way to make them fun, the better.
Le Mans-winning, all-wheel-drive diesel/electric hybrid, anyone? http://cdn3.worldcarfans.co/2012/3/1...5324200548.jpg |
