Mitsubishi to kill off Eclipse & Endeavor
 

No love lost here, better ax this than the evo & I feel like they took this long to notice its a failed car. I remember my friend dragged me to a big meet in mitsubishi HQ i think 2008 for the unveiling of the 4th gen I think and people was disappointed cuz they are expecting 4cylinder turbo awd :cry:

There was an AWD 4th gen Eclipse concept done up by Ralliart that I recall a while back... Too bad that didn't come into production, looked awesome too.

Oh well, their loss.

Arent they also killing off the Evolution also? Wonder if they are going after the same image as toyota.

Back in the days, all the Diamond Star guys with their AWD 1st and 2nd Gen Eclipses and Talons thought they were the shit so I had no choice but to dislike the Eclipse and Talon! After the 2nd Gen Eclipse, no more VR4 models, the final production of the 3000GT they seem to go downhill.

They should have fired their chief head designer a loooonnngggg time ago! :clap:

I read a couple months ago that they intend to create more hybrid and electric vehicles. If that's the case then I can see the (Toyota brand) haters tearing after Mitsubishi.

I wouldn't mind being seen in a Eclipse but I thought they were always asking a little to much money for this last generation. I also researched something a couple years ago about the black paint on 3rd gens fading extraordinarily fast.

the rumor was put down when a higher up person made an interview, if they try to be like toyota, they have a lot of work to do.

I remember that lol...its civic vs eclips/talon, I also remember my friends 2nd gen eclips awd that car spend more time on the shop than the streets, spend $20g's on a car he sold for $11g's.

back in the late 90s it was all Civic, Integra, Eclipse/talon, Celica....what ever car was in the fast and furious people got. That's 1 decade before I got into cars, my Gen is around the time where WRX Sti and EVO 8 dominated everything, it was the last Celica. Scion just came out, all the honda boys had RSX. Those were the days... it's sad these days. the scene had died.

1 decade? So you got into cars last year? (F&F was 2000 if I'm not mistaken...remember it as so because of the lady friend that went with me:wub:)

I remember that all too well...the craze over the cars in that movie after it came out. Where before half the "racers" that were around didn't really know what my car was ('is that a Celica or something?'), alluva sudden, where experts on the car, and all wanted one! I'd tell them I had the late 80's model and they'd just shrug and walk off. Bastards.

About time they killed it. They both are amazingly UGLY cars. Lol

I wouldn't say its ugly....its definitely not glamorous, but its not an ugly car.....its just....not AWD turbo.

Oh yeah, guess I should've put that it was a Supra I owned during this period for the uninformed. And yeah, I can imagine this happening to EVERY MK3 owner.

It really was annoying...but it also showed who the true racing enthusiasts were and who were just movie fanboys. In the early 2000's I knew about 4-5 Mk4 Owners. Disliked them all. All douchebags trying to be paul walker.

Lol. They're an eyesore for me. The rear is so..... r..ound.. It doesn't even look that good.

I may not know as much about cars as you guys (I too JUST got into cars.. probably about a year now, but still want to learn how things work) but what I can say is.... that car is ugly it doesn't have a clean JDM look to it regardless of how you mod it. I think its just me, but that car is like an alien!.

Especially since it debuted in the 2F2F movie it took an ugly toll and hit the fan. Lol
