gap between front bumper and hood

1 Attachment(s)
So I purchased this 2013 BRZ 3 days ago and I just saw there is a little gap between the front bumper and the headlight (driver's side only). I did some research and found out that some BRZ were manufactured this way back in 2013 although I don't know if this is really the truth or not. Or the previous owner happened to hit something to cause this. I kinda wanna believe it manufactured this way as I don't wanna think the previous owner has done something accidental thing to this car. So yeah, my question is that is it really the manufactured thing that causes this gap or something happened previously to the front bumper? and also, if I leave it as it is would it be eventually gapped even more? should I go to bodyshop to get this fixed? sorry if this has been discussed, I feel like I gotta to everything to take care of this car. Thank you very much in advanced :)

EDIT: it's actually the gap between the front bumper and the headlight, not the hood. Thank you.

This can happen either if you drive often with very high speeds (I had this issue) or the most likely if you remove the bumper for some workshop repair. It is known that the bumper plastic clips are not strong enough and they can cause this issue. I don't think you'll have any problem if you leave it like this, only if it bothers you aesthetically. Alternatively, there is a solution with metal clips re-enforcements. You'll need to order them from Japan. Check here: https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/49087

A few members that used them were very happy with the result. More information here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...=108535&page=3

Pull the rivet clip things out of the spot over the marker lights. Not the whole issue but a big contributor. Fit is a little off and pushes the whole dealio forward.

I've had mine off several times. Still clips up better than when it was new with the rivets installed.

It depends what you want ... a garage queen or a road warrior?
